Some of the most famous videogame soundtracks are chiptunes.
Do you like chiptunes?
I might as well post some of my favorites: Shirobon, Anamanaguchi and Sabrepulse are what come to mind... Any suggestions?
I missed out on most of the games with chiptune music, but looking various games up on YouTube has made me a fan of chiptune music. There is definitely something about it that makes it great that isn't just the nostalgia.
Lately I've been going between listening to the Super Meat Boy soundtrack and the Scott Pilgrim game sound track by Anamanaguchi.
Although occasionally I'll sit back and listen to some Castlevania tunes.
Yeah dude! I used to think I was weird as a kid when I only listened to game music, but it is apparently a genre!

" She music counts, right? I like the album Chiptek. "she totally counts. Well, his chiptune stuff does, anyway.
I love chiptunes! Just scrolling through my most played in my iTunes I see Anamanaguchi, 4mat, OxygenStar, Sabrepulse, Starscream, Smiletron, Electric Children, IAYD, USK, Trash80, Psilodump, Square Two, PDF Format, Derris Kharlan, Souleye, she, Bit Shifter, and Hurrigame Boy to name a few.
Anamanaguchi and Sabrepulse have already been mentioned here.
Honestly, if you liked Anamanauchi's Scott Pilgrim soundtrack, then I recommend their albums which are much better.
Nullsleep is also awesome.
One of my favorite hip hop albums ever is YTCracker's Nerdrap Entertainment System (It's a free download) where he samples some old NES chiptunes.
As far as chiptunes from a videogame, this is probably my favorite one ever. Even beating out the likes of Vampire Killer and Bubbleman's stage.
YTCracker also did a sweet sample of Zelda II on his latest commercial album
