I can't remember which podcast I was listening to (maybe Drunk Tank), but they were talking about how they never keep game cases. They just throw them away and put the game in a binder. I have always been the type to throw away CD cases the second I get home and put the CD in a binder, but I have never thrown away a DVD/game case. The whole idea seemed totally foreign to me. So, I ask, does anyone here actually throw away their cases?
Do you throw away game cases?
Game cases? Hell no.
I keep all my games inside their case when I don't play them.
With the collection of games I have collect through the last 17 years just looks better when you can see all the cases on the shelves =D
No way. Weird.
I keep my game and CD cases. My games and movies I keep in two seperate binders in numeric-alphabetic order, excluding terms like "It's and The" from the titles as well as pre-names like "Tom Clancy's". My CDs I keep in their cases, after I upload them on my computer that is, on a display in my room. The empty DVD cases I keep on a DVD rack in my room, they contain only the booklets and bonus discs. Maybe I'm weird.... I have a really specific method for this stuff and I kind of freak out when people start messing with it...
I used to throw the bulky NES/SNES/GBA/N64/PC boxes, simply because I had too damn many of them and I was giving away the games/systems to my relatives anyway, but I would never throw away a game's CD/DVD case.
I honestly don't think there is anyone who will throw away their game cases. You can't sell your games that way and second even if you use those binders and sleeves, ppl would at least keep store their cases elsewhere. For pc games, a few of the cases has the cd key there and that's not something I want to throw away.
Yes. All of my older games are in a binder.
Newer games are left in their cases, but I'm starting to run out of shelf space and I'm not getting more shelves to accommodate more games. Thusly, older games will have their cases thrown away and their disks put in a binder. That might take a while though as I've been buying most of my stuff via digital distribution. I haven't bought a physical copy of a game all year.
Nope, I keep them. I threw away my old PS1 CD cases years back because I have all my games in a little Playstation binder. CD's are too cheap anyway, and most of them were cracked or broke, and considering those cases weren't anything special and the manuals were black and white, I decided to save some space.
I have a rotation going on, for every new game case an old one has to go. I keep about 25 at a time. The discs itself are stored in a "disc album" or whatever you call those things.
Who throws away a game case? I don't understand. Are you speaking Greek and I'm just not getting it? I'm at a loss. I still have the cardboard boxes all my PC games came in.
no, i would think that is crazy. let's say u lose the book of sleeves full of games then u are going to be screwed out of a lot of games. it would be a lot easier for a person to steal the games. i keep my games cases. the only time i threw someting was the boxes that n64 games came in.
Why the hell would anyone do that? I just like the niceness of having a case for my games. If I bought CDs instead of downloaded them (legally of course) I would probably keep those cases as well. Anyone who throws away game cases is weird.
The only time I throw away game cases is when I buy something used from GameStop and can't get there stupid stickers off without messing up the case. If the case isn't perfect I can't stand it! I might be a little OCD about that...

I used to not care about them when I was a little kid. I don't know that I intentionally threw them away, but they ended up wherever they fell. Nowadays, however, I keep all of my games together in a collection. I also tried salvaging whatever old cases remained while cleaning up at one point.
I keep all the games i am playing regularly in a cd case thingy thats the shape of a monster ...its pretty ace.... but I keep all my game cases... I have never heard of anyone wanting to throw away the cases.
Fuck no, In fact thats the reason I dont like Digital Distribution.
Im the type of guy that likes to see their giant ass stack of games in all its glory, with cases
I keep all the case to my current gen games.
I put all my ps1 ps2 and dreamcast games in a binder because if I kept all the cases for those games I would have had to build an extension to my house.
" No. I only ever threw away those huge cardboard PC game boxes and Game Boy game boxes. "This pretty much.
General rule of thumb for me is: If the box is made of cardboard, it goes; if it's plastic, it stays. So NES/SNES boxes were tossed, while Genesis ones stayed. Just something about the sturdiness and build of the cases that makes them feel like they're supposed to be kept. Cardboard boxes don't survive the tests of time very well unless you purchase them with the intent to keep them as collector's items from the get-go which was the last thing on my mind when I was 10 years old, buying a new NES game.
