Is it mean? I record myself doing it. Sometimes with voice masks like auto tune.
Do you troll in Video Games?

The worst I would do is just fly around in a helicopter seeing what stunts I could pull in Battlefield or go out of my way to block a snipers aiming.
Thats only when I get bored of the actual multiplayer which is rare.
No, I prefer to work with my team or engage in actual conversations with them while playing.
I only troll friends because it is funny that way.
I personally don't troll, but I participated in a lot massive stunts with my guild in WoW that would probably be considered trolling and it was a blast.
As long as it's large scale/not directed at an individual and it's clever; I see nothing wrong with it.
I become super polite when people bitch at me when I play MOBAs, it's really fun when they get more pissed off.
No, but according to my Xbox Live rep I'm a major troll. 70% of players have avoided me with majority saying it's because of abusive language. Awesome thing I rarely use a mic and when I I'm in private chat with friends.
@emem: Yes, it really is. I tried Dota 2 for a while, great game, terrible community for the most part.

@Gargantuan: I was thinking about checking out Dota 2 when it is released and I heard that the MOBA community isn't the nicest... is it really that bad?
People exaggerate. Sure, there's assholes in MOBAs but I've met a lot more assholes in Battlefield: Bad Company 2 (PC) than in Dota 2 and LoL.
I don't mind people who bitch, I think it's funny.
Depends on how you "troll."
My wife doesn't play games online much, but not to long ago she came across her first troll asshole. It was in Full House Poker and it was two absolutely foul-mouthed jackasses making fun of her in every way imaginable. She was joking around with one of the players in the match and out of no-where those two decided to pick on her with vulgarity, name calling, and other things.
That is bad. There are okay types of trolling, where it doesn't affect the person emotionally, but your treading shallow water there.
I trolled my partners in LA Noire constantly. I would be waiting in the car for them and right when they get to the door I would move up a little so they couldn't get in. Then reverse. Then go forward again and finally take off to the next objective.
As far as trolling actual people in games? Nah I'm not a dick.
Yeah, as a partaker in tons of quick scoping and the like ala MW 1-3, I've seen my fair share of trolling on grand levels. It can be funny as hell, but it's almost always assholish and I kinda despise it. It can be done intelligently and be really funny, but 99% of the time it's just some 14 year old being a prick.
Naw never, I don't really communicate with people when I play multiplayer, I just don't care I guess.

First person shooters, specfically on consoles due to the accessibility and mainstream nature attract the lowest common denominator. This is the case with most popular FPS. Strategy games much less so. This is most likely due to strategy games requiring more input from the user. The learning curve and platform (pc) reduces the chances of playing against young players with undeveloped minds or underachieving adults. Generally speaking, I have a wonderful time online.
The other day I was playing l4d with some friends and the other team was "trolling" us. Spent most of the match calling us fags and telling us to rage all while spraying furry porn everywhere.
Another time a guy on my team moved a piece of geometry as infected, so that it blocked the progress of the survivors. It was almost funny until you realized that he waited out the first round and then spent 5 minutes in the dark hitting a pipe, the end goal to force everyone to stop playing this game we wanted to play. That's really funny right guys?
I play WoW. A lot. So yes, of course I troll. It's even better in vent when I can hear them starting to break. That moment they yell into vent and you can hear the trickle of tears down their cheek... it sustains me.
I only do this to people that I deem to be supreme douche bags, such as myself.
