I never used to be a big DS fan. I had the system for quite a while, but a few months ago I started checking out games from Gamefly and now I understand what all the fuss was about. My recommendations are...
- Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride (one of the best games I've played in recent memory; the best game I've played in 2009)
- Mario Cart DS (so good, it's kind of a requirement like Zelda: Hourglass is)
- Pokemon Diamond & Pearl (rock-paper-scissors fun; should be real cheap one Pokemon Platinum drops)
- Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (fun action/platformer set in the DQ universe)
- Kirby Super Star Ultra (yeah, it's a Kirby game, but it's also a good game; surprising, I know)
And while I've not tried them (due to my meager skill level with the franchise) I've heard good things about the Castlevania games on the DS, Order of Ecclesia, Portrait of Ruin, and Dawn of Sorrow.
Another game I haven't played but will someday because it seems just so awful (but in a good way) is Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure. An RPG with a lyrical score that is...well...
Look, i'm going to be frank and honest. These are the games that you HAVE to own. there ae others that you certainly should own, but these are God-damn requirements
holy crap guys you don't have to go crazy, lol, i play most games on ps3 and pc, i got zelda, pokemon, hotel dusk, chrono trigger, and may be picking up the world ends with you soon, but otherwise i probally won't hit to many other games for a while, not a fan of mario or RTS on consoles or handhelds
