Ending? WTF?

I just got up to the top of the castle, decided I'd see what's in the room where I fought Dracula with Richter at the start of the game. I go in and Richter is there, he fights me and I win... then the game ends without tieing up any loose ends. Like I didn't even get to see Dracula, Death, or even figure out who Maria is and why she was in the castle. And not only that I only had 2 familiars and like, I'm only level 25!!  
 
Somebody please tell me I did something wrong... the game can't end like this. 
 
EDIT: OMG it happened again, my threads are automatically posting in General Discussion.

I guess the only solution is to get a mod to fix it lol.
 
Anyways, I think you're definitely missing stuff. I forget if you needed to equip stuff and what not.
