FFXI is the best MMORPG on the market, bar none. Sure, it has its problems, but it is a very enjoyable experience these days ( due to all the features Square-Enix has implimented over the years - 'Level syncing', for example, which has made partying a lot easier ). It is still difficult, time-consuming and not as easy to approach as World of WarCraft, but it is also very, very rewarding to those with patience and determination. With that said, I can't wait for FFXIV - the announcement-trailer looked great. It will definetely be a day-one purchase, as I want to be among the first to explore the world this time around - I was a pretty late bloomer when it came to FFXI.
FFXIV OMGZ!
Oh yeah, i reaaaally want to play an mmo made by japanese devs who understand nothing about online gaming. Just look at Monster Hunter for example, this game SCREAMS for an online component but nooooo, Ah-hoc.
Plus FF11 is an MMo of the past, its PRE-WoW. I'm curious to see if they'll adapt to modern mmo standards with lofs of single player content, multiplayer content, dungeons and whatnot.
Because if its more group only - 4 hours boss fights mmo? No thanks. Or as the lady from the nintendo press conference would say : NEVER
