Finally get to fight Elites again in Halo!

No, you may not. But it will be good to kill some damn Elites again. They're good antagonists.

Hopefully they've regained their posture.

It's horrible that we'll have to wait roughly a year until we get Halo: Reach.

I hope we don't have to fight Brutes again. It would break the continuity anyway if they were in Reach and not Combat Evolved.

That was set between Halo 2 and 3 though, roughly around the time when the Brutes took over. In fact, there is even a bit where you come across dozens of dead Elites and an ODST remarks "what the hell happened?" (I think it was one of Buck's first sections when he is searching for that woman).
