i'm looking for some games that are both easy and fun is still highly rated, as fallout 3 orassassins creed 2. any suggestions?
good easy games
GEG?
I guess Dear Esther is the obvious choice; it couldn't possibly be any easier than it already is.
Fallout New Vegas, if you haven't played it yet. The Witcher (kinda medium difficulty but a lot of fun). World of Goo, Plants vs. Zombies, Terraria are also really great.

This. Everybody needs to play Bastion.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was real easy, but I liked it anyway.

Agreed that everyone should play this game. Dying more than once or twice in this game on the default difficulty is challenging (and it'll happen only because you don't understand the game's mechanics and that you can easily heal yourself).
Despite being easy, the game is a lot of fun. It lets you play however you want to play (melee or ranged or both) and has great audio between the soundtrack and the narrator. If you wanna feel really powerful and have an easy time, play it again in new game plus with all of the goodies you acquired the first time through.
I just bought Costume Quest (on sale on XBLA) great personality. I thought it was too easy and simplified, but fun in small chunks.
Prince of Persia (2008)
This is one of my favorite games this generation. Some people say it is too easy, but that is only because of forgiving checkpointing. I played this game after I played Mirrors Edge, and if you count every cutscene showing your partner save you as a failure state, I reached that state more often in Prince of Persia than Mirrors Edge. The developers just don't shove the fact you failed down your throat, so it seems easy.

First RPG I ever got my girlfriend to play. It's funny, well written, and easy to play.

The Witcher on medium is not an easy game.
It's a medium difficulty game, like I said. Not super easy on medium.

This is actually a great recommendation. It's very forgiving, very pretty to look at (if you like the artstyle) and genuinely fun to play in a forgettable sort of way. I would however never qualify fallout 3 as an easy game so what do I know.
Okami is probably one of the coolest games I've ever played that was too easy for me to fully enjoy.
