Im paying upgrade from my current 3 year old Panasonic which is just 720p and i got it cheap and it pretty much shit for games.

This is tv im looking at nice 40" 120hz i don't need huge tv it's for my room.  Also this is Canadian dollars so it may be a 200 or 300$ more than what it's found in united states.

Thanks just a quite question do you think i should just buy a 360 now and wait on the tv?
First right now games only support 720p. I could buy a 360 and next year LED tv's should have dropped alot pick one if them up then.

I'd wait for LEDs to drop. Most games don't play at 1080p, so you are really buying this new TV for Blu-Rays and maybe hooking up your computer to it. Again i'd wait and go with the 360 or save the cash.

Would be cool if you could get an LED backlit or edgelit LCD, instead of CCFL. I bought the LG 42LH90, rated as the best 42" LCD LED out there, bought it on boxing day for $1400 CAN. awesome tv, and the local dimming produces some jaw dropping image depth and quality, also after a lot of color profile tweaking. It produces better quality than the samsung series 8000 46" edgelit, which is also double the price.

remember to price match your stuff with best buy or future shop (which i did for the LG). if you see a lower price at any online canadian site, tell them to price match it.  Stupid fucks at futureshop had the harmony One universal remote for $320, i got it for $220 price matched from electronicsforless.ca

the lg 42lh90 right now is up for $1700, havent checked daily though, it keeps changing.

An refresh-rate of 120hz should mean it can do 3D with shutter glasses(the technology PS3 is going to use if I remember correctly). At least, that's how it works for the PC.

I hate how they don't list the actual contrast ratio anymore.  It's just stupid, and is used to fool people.

quality games > quality TV
maybe for more immersive games having the best TV and crazy surround sound will make them seem cooler, but ultimately you'll get the same experience playing the game anywhere *
I say play the games for the enjoyment and experience they provide.  If buying a new TV means no 360 for 2 years, get the 360.
provided the games you want to play aren't available elsewhere (xplatform titles, etc)

* HD-to-SD text issues, crappy ports, etc not included
