Hidden MSG in Steam Announcement?

I'm trying to figure it out.  Anyone think there is any merit to it even being a coded msg?

Its a password combination for a weird thing that when completed gives you the front and back covers to portal 2

Yes, ages ago. Cracked, logged in with, puzzle solved.
 
It's a new login for the BBS: user drattmann, pass h0nee. Apparently D. Rattmann was another test subject responsible for scrawling on the walls (his fondness for honey was mentioned somewhere). He has a login to the BBS because the test subjects were employees of Aperture. The login led to us getting some binary files. We used a qbasic program spat out by the older bbs login (backup/backup) to read the files, which turned out to be pictures. Those pictures pretty much said "HEY CONGRATS, WAIT FOR ANNOUNCEMENT". So yeah:
