Thanks to the new TF2 co-op update I seem to be spending most of my free time after work now sitting in queues waiting for games to load. So I was wondering what other folks do to pass the time when they are waiting for their drug of choice to open up to them. I tend to alt tab and keep a mindless video on youtube running or looking at the forums then alt tabbing back every few min to see if I got in yet.
How do you pass the time when queuing for a game?

Its my understanding that the system for queing isnt working right, using server browser i have got into games in a matter of seconds but that is for the free mode.
to answer your question usually i just bring up the browser and reply to posts on giantbomb or check my emails, nothing too exciting
I guess I browse the web. It has to be something menial and easy to close so that you can immediately return to the game, or you're missing the point. Reading a couple of the comments here is starting to shed some light on why League of Legends queue's keep canceling..

You're totally right. After spending an entire night waiting through queues to try out MvM, using the server browser got me into a game in seconds.
If it is a shorter break, say less than 5 minutes, I will usually just browse the web for a second or two before, or a lot of time I will have my TV on watching television while my PC is on , and I will end up watching that.
If it is waiting for a patch to download and install. I will usually have my PSP right by me, and turn that on for a few minutes and work on whatever game I am currently playing.

Not play games with queues?
That's my strategy as well! *high fives*
Also, can't you just hop into servers in TF2 or has it changed that much since I last played it like a year ago?
The queues are specific to the new co-op mode only and, even then, you can just ping servers directly for that or still use the browser for everything else.
@buft: Right now I'm just playing to get the item drops. I got the the one I really wanted, that new metal engie helmet, on my second ever game. So I can die happy now.
Only games I've played where I have had to deal with this constantly have been MMOs - EQ in particular. Usually I spent time intently staring at the queue number - but also, there was an IRC channel where people congregated to complain about servers being down. I spent a lot of time there, because shared misery is so much better.
I read a book on my iPad, browse forums, write, watch videos, or occasionally I'll even paint a model or something.
Also masturbate furiously. Always masturbate furiously.

This is my general rule of thumb for all occasions... not just waiting for a queue.
Also Minecraft.
