How Many games a year do you buy?

It doesnt have to be an exact number. also try to group them into diffrent categories. such as Used,New or collectible.

as for me. a bunch. just this year, ive bought,smash bros brawl,kingdoms of amalur,max payne 3,mass effect 3,dragons dogma, devil may cry hd,the witcher 2,UMVC3 vita,mortal kombat GOTY and resident evil ORC. i might be forgetting a couple.

add about a dozen more into the used category and twice that into the collectibles. i buy a shit load of old snes,ps1,ps2,gamecube dreamcast games.also a few more downloadable games for my 360 and vita.

i realize to some it might seem excessive,but this is my hobby. my girlfriend and i enjoy collecting video games and game related stuff.i mostly bring this up because since it seems most games are delayed till next year i really only see myself picking up three of four games for the rest of the year. so how about you guys?

Last year? Too fucking many to count properly.

This year? Mass Effect 3 and Battlefield 3. EDIT: And Red Dead Redemption.

And I bought mostly new last year, but almost everything before that was used.

I usally only get around 10 games a year. I have yet to buy a single game this year (I got Diablo 3 for free).

When I had a source of income; 8 or 9 new. Now that I'm unemployed; 0 to 1. Thank god for PS+ providing a constant supply of games to play while I can't afford to buy new ones.

Without counting the bundles that have 5-10 games in them? 
I'm not sure but I know it's a lot.

Depends on the year, really. For example, last year was a big year for me. I think I ended up on the greater side of ten or so. Then you have this year, where I have bought...one game so far.

I really only buy new games. Though I do pick a little more than half of them once they have a price drop. I probably buy a retail game every other week, maybe every week during the holiday season. I would say about thirty games per year plus maybe another dozen digitally. I also borrow some games from friends. According to the GiantBomb achievement list I played 82 games last year... Not super accurate because it only counts last time played. I wouldn't include iOS games because I see them as time wasters, where as console and PC games; I set time aside to play. There is my two cents.

So far ive bought around 12 games (4 new). Would usually buy about 25 - 30 games.

@ZeForgotten: yeah i count collections as one. i have the mgs hd collection but when i count how many xb360 games i own i count that as one. same as with the genesis collection

I mainly buy games from older consoles or on sale. I'll occasionally buy a new game at launch, but very rarely. Therefore I can get loads of games for nothing. So I dunno, like 100?

Probably about 15 a year. I finish a little more than half.

Too many because of Steam. Last year I bought over 50 games. This year has been relatively slow. I think I picked up 15 games or somewhere around that number. All new.

I don't know throw in steam sales and knowing how many games you buy a year is quite hard to keep track off.

Somewhere between 40 to 60 a year. Already up to about 25 for this year,having got 9 vita games.This only includes boxed games and i rarely buy used unless it's something i missed in a previous year

Very few full-price game. Maybe 6 at the most. I've only bought one this year (Diablo III) but I buy a lot of games on sale and when they are dropped in price.

The number of games I buy a year has dropped drastically.

I'd say about 5, tops.

But then again, I've been eyeing a few games on Gog.com, so that number may increase.

It depends on what's coming out and what goes on sale for me. This year I've already bought: NFL Blitz, Trials Evolution, Warp, Mass Effect 3, Diablo 3, Walking Dead, Fez, SSX, and I got Minecraft for free. Most of those were digital and the couple of discs I've bought new.

Now that I have a better paying job, I'll probably be buying a lot more games this year than I have in the past.

Probably 10 to 15 counting both retail boxed games and downloads. Depends a lot on the year and on how generous Amazon is being.

I never buy newly released games, so I pick up between 5 and 10 per year. Since I only buy games on sale or after a price reduction, I can spread my gaming dollar farther. I may have to wait a year, but that doesn't matter anymore since playing competitively online isn't important to me.

Hard to say. How many AAA games are sold on Steam for less than $10 in a given year? That many, minus the ones I bought in previous years.

I'm still playing the last three games I bought back in October. Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Dark Souls, Battlefield 3. I haven't bought any new games since and my next buy will probably be Deus Ex: HR.

I'd say about 10, it all depends on how much money I have though, had to spend quite a bit to get a new monitor, so it'll probably be less than normal this year.

Honestly, I'd guess for me somewhere between 60 to 100 in any given year, depending on how you define game. As far as retail games, I'll buy the top games for that year at full price, so long as they have some form of multiplayer or levelling system. This year, that's really just been Diablo 3 so far.

Otherwise, I tear up the used game section at my local Gamestop. That would include Darksiders, Arkham City, DS games, Wii games, etc. etc. If i get the need to get a new game, i go bargain shopping for last years cool single player game.

Then you have to consider digital games. I mean they count, even though they may be a lower price. So I just bought Saint's Row the Third last night, and half the deals on Steam I just cant resist. So it all tallies up. Yeah I'm an impulsive buyer, but i do do my research on all games prior to buying them. I must buy 3 or 4 iPad games a week.

About 80-100 games a year including PS3, PS1 classics, Steam, 3DS, and now Vita. Im not much into used games unless they are not available in new condition, instead I wait for some games to go on sale If I feel they not worth buying day 1.

I think around 15 sounds about right.

Who's bragging? I work a minimum wage job, I have a student loan and a downtown apartment. I'm not special or rich. I think I just value games more than others.

I don't know. Probably a couple hundred. Since January 1st of 2012, i've bought about 10 console games, 120 Steam games, 30 GoG games, 50 Desura games, and 94 (yes, seriously) DS games.
