So my girlfriend is at work tonight, my parents are at a movie and my friends are yet to reply to my txt messages so I need to post on here and feel loved! I've spent the last 2 hours trying to log onto the University's website to see if I had gotten my offer because it's been hammered since 6pm when the offers went out. I finally got in and I got my placement that I'd been hoping for. I'm doing an IT / Digital Media degree which is a hybrid course between the IT section and arts section of my Uni. It's very practical and gives me knowledge in a fairly broad range of topics so I can decide what I am best at or where I want to specialise and I will do further study later on.
After I left school I worked full time for a while, completed an apprenticeship then travelled overseas to 5 countries (which from Aus is bloody expensive). It took my 5 years to decide that what I am doing now is more than a hobby it's a passion and it is my life. Really excited to have gotten in and glad I waited 5 years after finishing school to decide what I wanted to do. At 23 I am going back to study as a "mature age student" nervous as hell but really excited to get into any industry that had had my completely enthralled since 14. I'm glad my parents and my school both taught me that not going straight to University wasn't the end of the world (at least not in this country anyway) because I couldn't be happier with the way things turned out!
Hopefully sometime in the next 5 years you will see my name down the very bottom of a games credit reel in very tiny letters with an asterix next to it*.
*Made sure grass textures looked green enough
