If you can have one TV series come out on DVD, what would it be?
If you could have one TV Show that you loved (Cartoon or otherwise) but has seemed to recieved no love in getting a DVD Collection release, what would it be? Mine would undoubtably, Unequivicably be one of my favorite cartoons of this Decade, Megas XLR. I am utterly baffled that CN has not put this show on any kind of DVD Box Set release. Its not like tis not popular, it has like a cult following now. Theyve been cranking season collections of their other old stuff like Johnny Bravo and Courage the Cowardly Dog, but why not this great, underrated Gem? I mean, sure I have it available to me on Live Marketplace and Itunes, but I would perfer it on DVD.
Anyway, whats yours? Honestly, I also wouldnt mind seeing some kind of release for Some of the good old Disney Cartoons back in the day like the Aladdin Cartoon and all taht. But without a doubt I would Purchase Megas XPR Box set day 1.
I might like Tremors the series to come to dvd. Where's Wally also because i loved that series as a kid.
As a UK resident, the only thing I can think of is Jim Henson's Dinosaurs. I know they were released on DVD in the US, but to my knowledge they've yet to be released over here. If somebody made that happen, I would be all over that shit.
Made In Canada - It's one of the funnier shows to come around. It stared Rick Mercer (probably the greatest thing to come out of Newfoundland), is basically 30 rock only less cheerful, and ten years older. Since it is a Canadian show, it only saw a small run DVD of it's pilot season (6 episodes) and then we never saw the remaining 4 seasons on DVD.
I like to see the old x-men animated series put on dvd. It had great story telling, among the best for an american cartoon.
Eventually everything will be out on DVD. If there is money to be made, the studios will wrap up failed TV shows and send them out for purchase by the 5 people who watched them when new. I like to check this site periodically to see what's available. http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/
But, the one show I can't figure out why it's not out of video yet is Disney's Kim Possible. The Disney Company usually puts everything out on DVD so they can make buckets of money, but for some reason the 4 seasons of the show have yet to be released in the US on DVD/BD. You can, however buy them all off Itunes.
I'd like to see an old sci fi show from the mid 90's called Time Trax, it only ran A season or two but I always dug the concept. And A tv show also from the 90's called Legend Starring Richard Dean Anderson and John De lancie. It was kind of an old west MacGyver. Either of those would be fine. Were they to only put one of them out.
Red Dwarf! They put that piece of shit Red Dwarf:Returning to Earth on DVD,but Red Dwarf the original series, got jack!
Made in Canada, for pretty much the same reasons as MonetaryDread said. I have like 6 episodes on VHS including the final episode, but I have nothing to play them on.
"Without thinking about it for long at all, I'm going with all seasons of Power Rangers. With commentary of course of all 5 (or six) rangers of that series talking about how most of their lives went to shit 15 years later."
quite the best idea ever. though i would only buy the ones up to zeo.
I can't think of any TV shows but there is this one movie I saw a long time ago called Thursday on VHS. That would be pretty cool on Blu-ray.
" The Wonder Years. That is easily what I want most. And with all the original music, thankyouverymuch! "Heh, it's that original music that makes it impossible, right?
I'd like them to finish releasing the King of the Hill DVDs and the Malcolm in the Middle DVDs. Fox sucks for not making this happen, though I understand the Malcolm ones are due to licensing more than just idiocy/laziness.
There was this really cool show (maybe my memory is making it better than it really was) called Push, Nevada. It got canceled before the series was able to run through all the planned episodes. I'd be so happy to see the whole season including the unreleased episodes make it to DVD. Anybody else remember the show? It was about an IRS tax agent who went to this little town in Nevada to solve this crime and it's kind of like Twin Peaks in the desert. It was wrapped around this real-world contest. The episodes had clues you had to pick up to solve this code. The code turned out to be a phone number. If you called the number you won the million dollar prize. The hook being that the crime in the show was centered on a million dollars that had gone missing. The game element was into that whole web 2.0 thing with fake web sites, fake phone numbers you could call, etc. Amazing shit!
