Interesting Idea?
I've recently been looking into the acheivement system Giant Bomb has set up, I quite like seeing how rare different achievements are.
The problem is that not all games have achievements, I would find it interesting to see who has beaten all the weapons in FFVII, beaten Diablo II on hell, rescued all the Mudokens on Abe's Oddysee, reached the credits on "Mental mode" in Serious Sam, etc.
Could a "achievement" feature be added to game pages and then updated by users. I hope you can see where i'm going with this.
They only need to be basic/measurable achievements, like getting to the credits on different difficulties.
So, who would find this interesting? Is it doable? Or am I wishing on a dream?
I don't see it happening. This would be too hard to implement, and I doubt the developers of those games would care enough to begin development on these old games. Besides, they'd still have to get around the fact that a lot (I'd say most) of old consoles don't have dedicated Internet access.
no becuase the best achievements are those that are unique and you coulnd't track if some one really had it, it would just be some guy claiming he did some crazy cool achievement.

They only need to be measurable, not like flying 1000ft in Carmageddon II. Also i'd like to think i can trust most people on Giant Bomb.

The developers wouldn't have to lift a finger, the acheivements would be submitted by Giant Bomb users.
The only problem is that it would be exploitable, would that many people go out of thier way though? I personally don't care too much about the points, they could be excluded, just how common they are.
"Yea, I imagine they would abuse it. If you give gamers the power instead of the games, things go awry very quickly.@GoodKn1ght said:
