Lifelike animation heralds new era for computer games


I noticed this news article about  a new level of realism for human charater that has been achieved by Image Metrics. They have done this  by using data captured of really actors facial movement  to drive the animation of the model.

VIdeo is impressive but  does it pass uncanny valley ?

Yeah but can you do THAT while everything else in the game? :\

Wait till you see what OYTO or whatever is doing, that is beyond life 'like', it is real. XD

Pretty impressive, but there's still a hint of uncanny valley in there.  Eh, it's still less creepy than this.
