No accessory manufacturers in Giant Bomb database

Just out of curiosity; is there a reason why there aren't any accessory manufacturers in Giant Bomb's database?  I attempted to add Hori, Inc. as a company, and the submission was rejected.  I don't have a problem with that, but then I attempted to search for a handful of companies that design hardware for consoles and arcades and found nothing.  Is there any reason behind this?
