Anybody wanna recommend some games for xbox that where perhaps overlooked by the mainstream but are good and I could perhaps pick up on the cheap?
Overlooked xbox360 games
tenchu z
hitman: blood money
banjo-kazooie: nuts and bolts
they're not for everyone, but there is something to love (if you look for it) in any of those games.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a graphically impressive but poorly made game (it crashed once a day, everyday I played it). It had bad voice acting, very linear gameplay and terrible boss fights, and yet was still the most fun I've had all year. The way saw it, I wan playing a game as Wolverine, all I wanted to do was stab lot of dudes in the face, and that part at least never got old. If you can pick it up for a fiver, or rent it, get it. As long as you don't expect the greatest game in the world you should get a few hours of fun out of it.
super overlooked: Shadowrun (not great but good and does a lot of new things with an online FPS) if more people bought it instead of complain that it wasn't a RPG, it would have gotten more maps and other dlc.
slightly overlooked: Red Faction Guerrilla, (great sandbox, awesome destruction) coming out at the same time as Infamous and Prototype made a lot of people forget about it.
other suggestions: Saints Row 2, Fear2, Lost Odyssey, Shadow Complex...
i second Viking: Battle for Asgard. its one of those games that i wish i hadn't played already, so i could play it new, now.
Blue Dragon's kinda overlooked, as is The Last Remnant. I haven't played either, so I can't comment on their quality.
" ...Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing? "That game isn't on 360, so your attempt at sarcasm failed.
" @dbz1995 said:You see, I knew that, but proceeded to put it on just to make sure that if he thought I was not being sarcastic (this is the internet) he would realise it is a PC game." ...Big Rigs: Over The Road Racing? "That game isn't on 360, so your attempt at sarcasm failed. "
- Earth Defense Force: 2017~ Not a great game, maybe more of an acquired taste, but if you want to try something that budget but fun, this is one way to go.
- The Club ~ Also an unusual game. More like a race or a game of tag than a shooter. The object is to get from one end of the path to the other, killing all the dudes in between as fast as you can and with style for more points. Solid shooter but you replay the same course areas over and over for better scores.
- IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey ~ A WW II flight sim, but the best one out. There isn't a lot of call for these types of games, but if you are interested in some high flying action that can be set arcadey to meticulous, then is one is for you.
- Sacred 2: Fallen Angel ~ RPG with an emphasis on loot action.
- Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 ~ This one really didn't add much over the original, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a good game overall. There haven't been any GRAW games in a while, so they can probably be found cheap now.
"EDF is a ridiculously fun game on Co-op, I had a blast with that game, even if only for a short while."
- Earth Defense Force: 2017~ Not a great game, maybe more of an acquired taste, but if you want to try something that budget but fun, this is one way to go.
Also, Lost Odyssey was somewhat overlooked and it's an excellent game.
The Darkness - Don't miss out on this game!
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts - Listen to Brad and play it.
Dark Sector - It's not the best game on the 360, but I got it for $3, and for $3, it is AWESOME! Buy it if you can get it for dirt cheap.

"Finished The Darkness 4 times (I'm a huge Garth Ennis Fan and general comic book nerd), tempted by banjo and not at all tempted by dark sector, but if I could pick it up for that cheap I probably would.
Omega Five - great looking XBLA shooter, fun to play.
Lode Runner - XBLA game, great version of Lode Runner.
Raiden Fighters Aces - a collection of emulated games, but very good games that don't emulate terribly well anyways.
Culdcept Saga - great strategy / card game. CPU cheats but it's still a ton of fun.
Death Tank - XBLA action game. Sort of a real-time Worms
Switchball - also on PC, it's a great Marble Madness-like game. Better than Marble Blast Ultra in a lot of ways...
Space Giraffe - XBLA action game. A lot of depth and a twist on the Tempest gameplay.
I agree with a lot of the other comments people have made too, Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts, The Club, The Darkness, Earth Defense Force 2017, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey...
- Red Faction: Guerilla (It gained a lot of momentum but if you haven't played it, its a must!)
- Lost Odyssey (Fucking great JRPG if you want one)
- GUN (Best western I have ever played. Graphics are definitely outdated as it came out just around the 360 launch and I think it was also on PS2. Doesn't matter though as it is totally fun as hell.)
- Burnout: Paradise (Definitely not overlooked but if you don't like racing games you may not have checked it out. Best racing game around and it appeals to non racing game fans such as myself and i've gone through the game twice!)
- Infinite Undiscovery (JRPG, if you like them, this one is pretty good!)
- Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts (Just look at Brad's recent reasons as to why to buy it.)
- Saints Row 2 (Its way over the top, sometimes even maybe too much and I'm not one to get offended easily or disgusted easily. But if you get past that, its fun as hell.)
- The Club (I haven't played it but keep meaning to and only hear some pretty good things about it.)
agree with a lot of the list (although im not sure all of them are overlooked, lol)" @thehideousshrew: No idea what genre you are looking for or are into but here's a list:

saints row 2 was ridiculous fun (played it on ps3) but had some technical errors. May be console specific, in which case you're good to go for the 360. Played Gun on the pc, but I'm not interested in picking it up with red dead redemption around the corner, which looks to take the title of "best western themed game" away from gun.
Red Faction was good if a little repetitive.
I'd take Forza 3 over burnout but burnout's not a bad game by any means.
Totally agree with Lost Odyssey. Awesome game.
edit: also add Shadowrun to the list. It got bad reviews because:
1. no sense of progression (no in game rewards)
2. Lack of maps
3. multiplayer balance.
4. no single player/story mode (mp only or singleplayer with bots)
i think that the first doesn't really matter, the second is true but the game is still ridiculous multiplayer fun on the same maps. I completely disagree with the third, i think it just takes learning the game, and the fourth doesn't matter to me if the mp is worth it. Definitely pick this up if you're into multiplayer FPSs, in my mind it's either this or Halo:CE for best multiplayer FPS ever.
Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 - you all may laugh, but I have put more time into this than any other 360 game. There is just something so appealing about all the activities: collecting various bikinis, jumping on oversized inflatables in the pool, enjoying the virtual casino, frolicking on the sand, and ultimately playing what is the only halfway decent volleyball / butt bashing simulator on the market. And then all your effort acquiring the diamond-encrusted string bikinis pays off when you are treated to a strip show. And did I mention how next-gen this game is? Rivals still have not topped the individual breast physics - yes, not one, but two simultaneously independent breasts swinging around in the hot sun. Plus, the longer you leave a swim suit on, the more likely your girl will dynamically tan over time.
Just bought Banjo and Lost Odyssey for about 18.00 altogether (uk pounds). Thanks guys. Appreciate the help. Keep 'em coming though, I'm sure you'll help someone else. Maybe even me later. YEEAH!
One of my personal favorites was Civilization Revolution. It was overlooked by the PC crowd because of its more simplified approach, but it's another great Sid Meier game that was built from the ground up for consoles. If you like city-building, historical references, and turn-based strategy, it's a hell of a game.
