It was never been popular on consoles. It is still one of the main bread and butters on the pc. Specific genre on consoles has typically always been popular. The playstation generation was third person platformers. This generation it's FPS.

I like that Peter Molyneux spent the last decade making character action-adventure games designed for controllers and thinks that controllers are only good for FPS.

Your comment has literally no relevance to my statement. Other than acknowledging that yes FPS are the most prevalent genre of games.

Wait, Peter Molyneux said something crazy and unfounded? Get outta here. The man is basically the Video Game industry's equivalent to a snake oil salesman, but without any of the awareness that he is attempting to con you. Patrick's interview with him proved that much.

A controller is a general tool. A pc and a mouse is a specific tool. It's made for pointing and clicking. This means more accuracy in shooters. FYI, I have only a macbook pro and do most of my gaming on an Xbox.
