I spent the past 3 weeks working with several of my friends to make a game to enter in Boing Boing's 'Games Inspired By Music' competition. Now, it has been submitted and the finalists have been announced. The final vote is up to the readers.
I am asking you, the Giant Bomb Community, to go look at the entries, and vote at the bottom of the page for what you feel is the best one. My personal favorites are Flatwar and Infiltration, besides my own game, Space Junk. If you my game isn't the best, that's fine vote as you please. I just have a feeling that the developer of Beat Boost has a lot of friends voting for him, and I don't feel like it deserves to win. Voting ends July 15, 11:59 PM PST.
There's my plea. That you play games and vote for the best. It's what I do on a regular basis, besides the voting part, so I feel like it's a pretty reasonable request.
Please Help Me, Giant Bomb! You're my only hope!
Your game's in third place duder!
BTW, I played your game and Beat Boost. Beat Boost as far as I can tell isn't even really a game. There's something super mesmerizing about it though.
" @JJWeatherman: I agree about that mesmerizing part. I enjoyed playing it for a while. In the end it felt more like a screensaver, though. One that just happened to have a score counter. "I started playing it, but I ended up just leaving it in the background, because the music was nice, but the game part of it was...well I'm not sure it was anything.

Anyway, I voted for Space Junk, hope it wins.
dude I loved your game, got to level 9 and wanted to keep playing but had to come back here and tell you how much i liked it, nice job!
You had the best game. flatwar was cool for about five minutes then it gets way too easy. Beat boost... fuck that game. Infiltration was by far the hardest. Onslaught was alright. Knifetank... fuck that game too. Bounty Hunter was way too short. Gobber Assault was like Half Minute Hero. I didn't bother playing Arctic Trek because I don't want to download safari.
Thanks a bunch! It's catching up! :D
Apt comparison with Half Minute Hero. The worst part about Arctic Trek is that it doesn't just require Safari, but Mac safari. The installer for the plugin is a Mac PKG installer...
5 more votes to pull into 2nd!
Assuming I didn't miss one.
This guy's only like 20, if that, votes away from winning. just click the link, it isn't hard.
Onslaught: Hard as fuck and not very original, but good for what it is.
Beat Boost: Entertaining at first, but then I realised it is barely a game and WAY too easy.
Infiltration: Awesome concept, but that's it.
Bounty Hunter: The worst of them all. Decent art style but i beat it in 2 minutes. Also it feels incomplete. I just don't get it...
Arctic Trek: I don't use Safari so...sorry.
Gobber Assault: Downloaded but it didn't work for some reason. :(
Space Junk: Difficult but interesting control scheme. Also I liked the way you presented the controls with a Captain's Log.
Flat War: Simple yet crazy gameplay, but also WAY too easy. I would've played more but I don't think I would have ever lost. Plus Beat Boost has the same music! Why???
Knifetanks: On par with Bounty Hunter. This one also seemed extremely broken. And your tank doesn't even have a knife!?
I voted for Space Junk because it seemed to have the most potential if you ever added anything to it, which I hope you do. Or at least make a sequel with a lot of added material such as upgrading, more modes, etc.
Woah duders! Psoplayer told me he threw a thread up over here.
I'm a member of the team who developed Space Junk, and I just wanted to swing by to give everyone a huge thanks!
I really appreciate all of you! Keep up the good votes!
Game was great. Was level 29 when I finally died trying to take out the second turret-planet-thing-whatever. Would probably work really great as an XBL indie game, though it would be weird to control at first due to the games crazy inertia. The only other one that I tried was the stupid surfing "game." Decent music, but where the hell was the game? Your guys' was way more inventive and just freaking fun.
You guys constantly impress me with your awesome votes! As psoplayer said, let us know what you think so we can improve the game!
" @psoplayer: Do you think having one of the enemies just be a "giant bomb" would be enough of a nod to these fine gentlemen and ladies? "That would be pretty cool :)
or you could call it Luchamonster
