PS3 Designer - "it was wiser to use the [font] from Spider-Man"

Wow. Just found this article through googling it. It's definitely old news, but I'm sure someone else missed this. Teiyu Goto actually said that. Wow. Just wow. I always just thought people called it "the spiderman font" because it looked like it. But he actually says that. Wow. Even Ken Kutaragi backs it up. It will no longer be a mystery as why Sony makes such stupid decisions(in my opinion). If that is what drives two of the head honcho's thinking, then I don't even know what to say.

I thought everyone knew by now that they used to use the Spiderman font. 
Well, I thought they knew sooner, like when the PS3 was first shown actually o.O

well, they did own that font already probably didn't want to pay for a new font design.

Why is that surprising? The Spider-Man movie franchise is a Sony owned thing, right? It was the biggest movie of the year I think when it came out, which was the same time PS3 was introduced. Plus I think it's a cool-looking font, and they've since moved on from that anyway.

I actually didn't about this until now. Then again I didn't pay much attention to the PS3 at the time when it came out.

The new font looks much better. Now I can't stop thinking of a particular Spider-Man 3 picture everytime I see the old one.

I love both fonts. Really love them. Even more than Helvetica.
