Hey
just watched that Rainbow Moon Ql. I think I could like a game like that. What would you recommend? But no Asian-Manga-Anima-Comic-Cutesy stuff! Preferably PC or maybe PS3.
Umm how about Rainbow Moon
If you are just looking on the PC or PS3 then your going to have a rough time finding anything too recent. As mentioned if you have a PSP then your options are much better with Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics being excellent choices (I recommend Tactics Ogre over FFT if you are only choosing one)
If you are willing to play older games then check out Fallout: Tactics or Jagged Alliance 2. The new Jagged Alliance (Back in Action) is decent as well, but it's moved away from the turnbased into a more realtime game. You can pause or set it up to auto pause frequently though so it still is all strategy based and not reflex based.
I personally like all the Disgaea games (PS2/PS3/PSP). They are funny and pretty awesome and have tons of depth. Also Valkyria Chronicles for the PS3 is amazing.
I hate how "anime" some of the games are, but they are still fun games.
Dawn of War II & Chaos Rising & Retribution... not exactly turnbased, but close enough, and certainly much more engrossing - at least as far as I'm concerned.

Get a Wii and get Fire Emblem - both the Gamecube and Wii versions. They don't come any better.
Except Fire Emblem....and some of the Japan only ones, Tear Ring Saga included.
X-com and Terror From the Deep are both 50% off at the moment on Steam. Personally, I recommend TFTD over the original.

Huh? I'm not saying the games are bad, though. I love Fire Emblem; I'm just saying that, within the series, there are better games than the Tellius ones.
@Seppli: yup, i came in here to recommend dawn of war 2. that game is pretty damn amazing. the RPG elements are fun, the RTS stuff is fun. the game is just awesome.

@Wuddel: Heroes of Might & Magic is a little like Fire Emblem or so Dave Snider says.
Heroes of Might and Magic really isn't like Fire Emblem. But they're two great tastes that taste great together, so you should probably get one of the Fire Emblem games (see: either of the GBA releases or the GCN one) and then get Heroes of Might and Magic III on GOG. Also King's Bounty, because it's practically a Heroes game anyways and you can no doubt get it for dirt cheap on the Steam Sale right now.
I really enjoyed fallout tactics. Right up until the last level where I killed a robot in a doorway and was unable to finish the game. I'd still recommend it though.
Operation Darkness, although the concept (WWII Strategy RPG with Werewolves, Vampires, and Zombies!) is slightly better than the game... still enjoyable though. I also liked Disciples I & II a lot, never played III...
Dragon Age: Origins is on sale on Steam - there is a QL of that on the site.
