@hammondoftexas: I must agree Hammond of Texas
Rev3Games shutting down
Damn, Tara was one of the best in the biz. Criminally under-appreciated.
and she's gone from games altogether :(
As Rev3Games comes to a close, so too does my involvement in the gaming industry. I have made so many friends and worked with so many (1/2)

I guess it isn't a surprise, she's obviously a very intelligent and talented person, she probably has a lot of opportunities outside of games media that offer her more fulfilling work and likely significantly better compensation.
Best of luck to her and the rest of Rev3.
Yeah I stopped paying attention to Rev3 after Sessler left. Shame that it's shutting down but I guess it was inevitable when a large portion of the talent left to pursue other opportunities.
@yummylee: Tara is pretty awesome. But first we need to get Lisa and Mary all up in the GB crew.
Just want to add one more plea for Giant Bomb to find a way to hire Tara.
She's damn good at this video game journalism stuff - GB would be lucky to have her.
Man, Tara Long was already working with Discovery on their Youtube Channel so I'm not surprised to see she's going all the way into that stuff, but it's still a little disheartening to see her go. I always felt like she had a great editorial voice, and really steered the Rev3 Games ship until Nick came into his own. Great team editorially, and their production values were always really nice, so I'm sure they'll all land on their feet sooner or later.
Who was even left there?
I guess it's a good thing GB is so video focused considering how times have changed. Or maybe they were more perscient than i give thwm credit for.
TBH GB is lucky that they had a "sponsor" for their first few years while they were finding their footing, then having a relatively large loyal fan base willing to help them out via Premium Subscriptions. GB is the only video games site I've ever given money to. That says a lot about them :).
Because of that, they were able to get big enough to be bought by CBSi. I hate to say it, but if they didn't go the route they did, they could've crumbled as well...before Premium subs, they were probably bleeding money, because they didn't have advertising on the site either.
Poor Babylonian/Nick; was nice to see a GB intern out there in the wild. Hopefully he lands on his feet.
I liked Tara a lot, so it's a shame she doesn't seem interested in continuing in games work. She was the best thing Rev3 had, IMO, even when Sessler was still around.
Tara and Nick aren't nearly enough to carry that channel. Adam, Anthony, and Max left. They WERE the channel.
There was no hope after that. Good try, though.
I've never seen a "site" (for lack of a better term) go through such a rise and then just fall almost immediately. When they were going strong with Max, Tara, Adam, etc. I really enjoyed them. Then one by one they all fell by the wayside and it was just a hollow husk. Sort of a shame.
I hope they land on their feet and I was a fan of Rev 3 around the time that Sessler and Max were there but GB can't hire everyone.
It's been mentioned before that they even have a hard time getting a freelance budget so I think it'll be a long time before anyone new is brought in. So let's just enjoy the site as it is... I'm loving all of the new content.
Again though, Nick and Tara are pretty cool, best of luck to both.
After Sessler left I stopped watching the channel.
Although I really like the guy I stopped watching while he was still there.
Rev3 simply didn't offer anything above what anyone else was doing and the stuff they did produce wasn't especially amazing either.
