Final Fantasy XII: It had good plot, and the adult characters were pretty good.

God of War 3: It had some nice looking boss battles.

Mass Effect Andromeda has the best combat in the series.

Fallout 76 has some interesting creatures I would like to see in the main series...

Resident Evil 6 - Not that bad if you got a buddy to play co-op and goof on the cutscenes with.

I didn't realize this game was bad at first for the following reasons:

1) It was my third RE game (I played RE5 with a friend and had a blast, played RE4 when it came out on 360).

2) I played the stories in it from best to worst based on reports.

3) I played it with my wife who at the time didn't play many games and had an absolute blast.

I tried playing it by myself and that's when I understood what people were ragging on.

"Hate" seems like a strong word for games I would even try out in the first place. Only thing I can think of that applies is:

Shinobi (PS2) - The main character looks really cool.

I would have plenty of examples for disappointing games but ultimately I tend not to "hate play" games even for a larf.

It is definitely easier to pick games I hate from my childhood since my criteria for wanting to play games back then was cool looking box or being based on a property I liked. Plus renting games was far more common so you were willing to give questionable games a chance.

X-Men(Genesis) - The reset trick was pretty ingenious.

Sonic Spinball - The bonus stages looked pretty cool.

Streets of Rage 3 - The Japanese version fixes a lot of the problems I had with the American release.

Twisted Metal 3 - If you put the game disc in a CD player you could listen to the Rob Zombie soundtrack.

Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer - The gunplay is awesome and the graphics for the time were amazing.

The Walking Dead season 2 - Clem is a cool character.

Detroit - The graphics are good and I liked the setting.

Far Cry 2 had impressive dynamic wildfire tech for environments for the time.

For the others "hate" is maybe a little too strong of a word because it was probably more boredom that caused me to stop playing:

Bioshock Infinite disguised corridors as beautiful open setpieces very well.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor had a lot of challenging enemies.

Metal Gear Solid 2: was fun to play when it came out, and did some interesting meta stuff.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Killing the old guy with time, is still funny

Metal Gear Solid 5: It’s a great game to play. They final figured out how to make all of those complicated systems fun.
