On Unprofessional Fridays, I learned that Sara is leaving for the East coast as an East coast correspondent for Comic Vine. Considering she's been close to the crew since like '09, it's kind of a downer. Almost feels like one of the originals leaving the building, but Alex is an East coast man and still manages to feel like an important part of the team. I expect nothing less from Ms. Lima!

I kind of feel bad for Tony since he has to talk to himself on the weekly news video, but I'm sure he can continue pulling that off. I mean, he can pull off most anything.

But enough about Tony. Best of luck, Sara!

Is Comic Vine getting a new layout as well?

That lady who always looked moody in I Love Mondays!

Good luck to her on her adventures on the East Coast!

Yeah, definitely sudden news. Having Sara and Tony around sort of maintains those last remnants of the old Whiskey Media family. Sara will still be around of course, but not in person.

Ah well. I certainly hope her move goes well and that she is content back East with the rest of us in the frozen tundra.

That office space, officially a "sausage fest." Safe trip Ms. Lima to NYC.

Comic Vine is sure to still be good

#12 Posted by JJOR64 (18939 posts) -

Good luck to her. They going to hire another person for the West Coast side?

#13 Posted by csl316 (8342 posts) -

Yeah, Comic Vine's too big to fail at this point with its giant wiki and community And she'll still be posting stuff while Tony holds it down here.

My first thoughts were another Screened dilemma where Rorie was killing himself doing all the video content while Alex was away, but since CV is more focused on text I hope they find a way to keep up a decent workflow. And Tony's been doing a lot of video himself, anyway.

Though I'll miss the opportunity for things like this.

Good luck Sara, have a safe trip

I've always liked having her around, and she's a fun voice on their podcasts. I know that won't change, but it's still sad to see her go.

Good luck Catwoman.

Sara is without a doubt the one personality across the Whisky family of sites and now CBS that I've agreed with the most. Hopefully she skypes into the podcast, otherwise I'll be sad.

Who?

#19 Posted by believer258 (11771 posts) -

You know the girl that works to the left of Brad? You see her in pretty much any I Love Mondays where Jeff points his cellphone camera at Brad? That's who. I think. Anyway, she works for Comic Vine and... never seemed to interact with the Giantbomb guys at all.

I've seen a girl once. I saw like 2 I Love Mondays ever in my life so yeah. Is she that skinny chick that was in all the videos Comic Vine put up back in the Whiskey days? That's the only girl I know of.

Yes. She's a Whiskey OG. I didn't really know or care much about Comic Vine til they started appearing on Happy Hours and doing dumb stuff. Fit right into the Whiskey philosophy, Babs and G-Man.

Whoa, that's kind of a big thing. Maybe it's a little silly, but I feel a bit bad for Tony, no one in the office left for him to talk to about comics. Oh well, best of luck to her, and to anyone who thinks she never really interacted with the Giant Bomb crew, you need to go back and watch the old Happy Hours.

Is she going to the same general area as Alex? Is it to much to expect wacky sitcom hijinks?

I've never really liked the comicvine podcast, WarRocketAjax is more my style, but I still respect the amount of work both of those two put into their site.

Sorry to hear, but good luck there none the less. Is she going to be in New York with Alex where she could do a podcast with him or something, or is she going to be in a totally different region?

#35 Posted by sopachuco13 (392 posts) -

Will CBSi be opening an office in New York or will she be working freelance like Alex?

I don't think he's freelance he just works from his home in New York. He is still a staff member of Giantbomb and CBSi. I imagine that is what is going to happen with Sara.

Good luck Sara, it's not going to be the same on ILM without you working in the background and casting disapproving looks at the antics every now and again.

Good luck Sara. I will miss the strange and uncomfortable sexual tension between you and Brad. It was disturbingly amusing. Like a dating sim.

I think I read once on Alex's twitter that there are several offices in NYC he just prefers to work from home. Speaking of which I wouldn't blame him.

Although she was as integral to Giant Bomb as those empty cardboard boxes behind Ryan's desk, I wish Sara good luck and that this move does not harm Comic Vine too much.
