Yes it would. Also, make sure there are no refrigerators, circuit boxes, and plumbing runs between your router and devices. It may also help to know what wireless channels are in use in your immediate area (neighbors and such) and move to one that's unused. Make sure you only use channels 1, 6 and 11 so you don't overlap another signal.

I'd suggest downloading a WiFi sniffing program to see what channels your neighbors are using and going with the least used one. This should help a bit. You could even try setting your router to broadcast only a G signal. Also make sure that your router is properly secured.
