The Top 100 ''Scientifically'' Proven Video Games.

Science! As it evolves the possibilities become more and more vast. But... how about if we used science to tell us the top 100 video games OF ALL TIME. The science is basically just using the averages of 6 different top 100 game lists. Here is the link to the article.

Also, here are the top 10 for you lazy people -

1. Tetris

2. Resident Evil 4

3. Super Mario 64

4. Super Metriod

5. A Link to the Past

6. Bioshock

7. Ocarina of Time

8. Half Life 2

9. Uncharted 2

10. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

So, what do you think about the list? Do you agree, disagree or really disagree?

COD4 is the only thing that is confusing me about this list. And where the hell is Persona 4?

That's pretty sound.

I don't like where this science is going.. But then again..

I've played all of them and I've and enjoyed all of them. Three of them are in my personal top 10 favorites.

I disagree, because despite what most people say, Uncharted 3 is better than Uncharted 2. I'm not saying I like it more, I'm saying it's better. Also I like it more.

I'm suprised Deus Ex isn't on there, i've always seen it rated quite high in those lists.

GTA 3 is higher on the full list than Vice City.

Anyway, I appreciate the idea behind the list, but ultimately I feel these kinds of lists lack any sort of focus. I'm more interested in lists that involve things that can reasonably be compared (ie. best games from a certain genre released during a certain time period); because let's face it, comparing Tetris and Modern Warfare 4 is craaazy.

A real scientific proof would be to just ask the Time Trotters for their top 100, those guys seem all about science.

I disagree, despite what you are saying, Uncharted 3 is the worst of the 3, but I also think the first one is the best

I think the method used is dumb, and is no more scientific than statistics is scientific, but I'll agree with the #1 spot. Tetris is dope.

I guess I can be behind Tetris being the best game ever based on this science, but looking at the full list, I'm not sure if I agree with the arrangement of games. Also, I couldn't see the remaining 233 games on the list. WHY? I want to see if games like RTW, Persona 4 and others got in!

At this point CoD is kind of a joke to a lot of gamers, because it's been run into the ground. But CoD 4 was fucking amazing, I'd say it's one of the best games this gen without a doubt.

I've played the original Tetris, but even if I hadn't it deserves its spot by being the one game every single person has played at some point, whether it was the original, a modern remake, or on a cell phone.

Of the other games on the list, I've played BioShock, Half-Life 2, Uncharted 2, and COD4, and of those, BioShock maybe, maybe cracks number ten. Maybe. The rest are great, absolutely, but not top-ten-of-all-time great.

Uncharted 2 is the only one that makes me go, "Really?" And I'm with Jeff on Resident Evil 4. That game is shit. (OK, OK, it's not shit, it just doesn't appeal to me, personally.)

I don't need science to prove that those are, in fact, games. 

I like that list. I approve of science.

You really have to fuck Tetris up pretty badly to make it not fun to play (as many shitty versions have proven.)

Tetris is a well made falling block puzzle game. I don't think that warrants the best game ever. I personally don't enjoy it for more than ten minutes at a time.

I'm pretty surprised no one has mentioned A link to the past being on top or Ocarina or time, I thought there would be more... Outrage.

I took it a step further and used science to determine that this is, indeed, a list of video games.

Not to combat the integrity of the final list, but I don't see how adding lists together makes it "science." Sounds like a meme being overused :/

This laptop I'm using to view that list was made by science...so....

When i saw top 100 scientifically proven video games, I was thinking that science has proved that the logic within a games story, physics, or other is deemed accurate. Disinterested in top 100 lists because they're literally just a sites way of getting you to click 100 times. We don't need these kind of articles every 3 months.

That list is not "scientifically proven" since the sample size is far too small (only 6 lists) and therefore suffers from selection bias (since it only represents a small fraction of the lists out there).

Here's a far more "scientifically proven" (or rather, "statistically proven") list based on weighted rankings using a much larger sample size of 54 different lists:

You obviously can't completely quantify something like this, but as far as something like this is concerned, it's a pretty good stab. I'd say those are definitely ten of the best games ever made, with COD maybe a little out of place and a few games lower or higher than I'd put them, but overall pretty good list.

Popular opinion changes with the times. Its star may have faded over the years, but back In the late 90s to early 2000s, critical and popular opinion of GoldenEye was very high, more so than any other FPS up until Half-Life 2.

Two of their sources were IGN and G4. This whole thing is invalid.
