People are writing their own fantasy fiction for GB content. Understand, we barely see articles these days, and most "features" are now squeezed into Happy Hour. If they were gonna do retro Quick Looks, we would have seen more by now, along with those articles. Just saying, if they're working on anything atm, it would be the GOTY content.

I'm glad you asked this Wolf Blitzer.
I would first like to say that treyarc I give you a round of applause, you have exceeded my expectations of you as a game studio granted you finally moved forward out of your ww2 shackles and have tried to foray into the future of modern warfare I'll break it down simply.
- The single player of your new title was great, wonderfully scripted, great acting, etc. However the sound effects had a lot of improvements while also needing room for further improvements. - The multiplayer aspect concept. beautiful a support model which you can constantly fine tune, dedicated servers, whats not to love about this?
Well I'll tell you, the net code of the game and how it handles latency in a room for consoles (this is not an issue on pc, and an even BIGGER issue for PS3 users. But rejoice I own the xbox 360 and ps3 version of the game so I have 100+ dollars worth of valid opinion) in a nutshell people who have high speed internet connections such as myself with open dmz and everything to ensure not only I'm the host but I can provide the best lag free game of any person in the room unless they have a higher connection bandwidth than I. It should also ensure that black ops with it's dedicated servers that I should enjoy a nice lag free gaming experience with accurate hit markers and accurate weapons.
But no, I don't because people with shitty internet playing black ops or people who have fast internet and are throttling their connection with porn, torrents, justin bieber cd's and what have you cause the games netcode to lower the latency in the gameroom that I'm playing in. Of course I can sit here and cry wolf with unproven claims. Why not throw this in there.
A few facts, before the forums decide to eat my post and log me out... again.
Black Ops has some of the worst implemented latency compensation. Players with average to below average connections will either not notice this (average connection) or benefit from it (poor connection).
Players with superior connections are punished by having their hit reg, as well as sync delayed by a seemingly arbitrary amount, in an attempt to normalize latency across all players in the lobby, while players with poor connections have their hit reg expedited. Meaning almost every face to face encounter is decided by who has the worst connection, as you are actually competing against the net code and not the individual.
This can be remedied by saturating your bandwidth, which produces artificially high latency. Though, for those of us with a great deal of bandwidth, even that can be a chore. Just be mindful that you don't saturate to the point of affecting data packet transfer, as that will have a negative effect. That said, there is only so much you can do to increase you latency and you can only increase it so much.
Even in games where every player has green bars, there is still a lot of compensation happening, as green bars no longer mean an acceptable amount of latency. In Black Ops, green bars range anywhere from 0 to ~300ms of latency.
tl:dr - if you are having issues with other players magically dropping you with a single round after you have fired an entire magazine into them - SATURATE YOUR BANDWIDTH. In Black Ops, HIGH latency reigns supreme; while LOW latency (especially host) is punished.

So I'm not the only one who is having this issue, and you know what. Treyarc feel's me dawg, so much so that I can be hip like the hipsters someone so blatantly called me and I can sign up for twitter to post this on vanderhoffens wall or whatever the fuck his name is and get some witty ass post made on his forums as to how they apply the updates.
When I first opened this game and played it everything was great, it played just like I wanted it to. Then a tweak here, and a tweak there, oh we're going to need patching approval for this tweak to be effective with that tweak. Now I can't hit shit in the game, lag lag lag.
PS3 version, I haven't even touched it in 5 days because after playing 7 incomplete games in a row whopping ass, taking names someone gets pussy hurt and they're the logical host quits. the game ends, I lose my bonuses, I'm still at a lower rank. I mean holy fuck I felt like such a twat complaining about the game on xbox. But man PS3 omfg.
sure I'm pulling this out of my ass, lets show some video from the games OWN theater mode on ps3, we have a combination of how the game in real time on a consumers console runs with a 20 meg a second down internet connection and 12 meg up.
but I digress I know this isn't the forum for me to be crying about call of duty black ops, but if someones going to call me a moron, you better have a better explanation than I do for why I think it's a SHIT GAME. Instead of being a fag and calling me someone who hates shit because I love to hate it.
