I am not one for trading anything in to retail, and I as well have grown tired of the monopoly that is GameStop, but I got an email in today that said 50% more for trades, including systems. I called a local store for details and confirmation and he said that is true with their Wii U normal trade value and the bonus 50%, it would trade for just over 280$. As a college student, about to live on my own in a month and half way through paying off a PS4, this has really enticed me since I can get not too far off from what I originally paid and I wouldn't be losing a lot of money. I could pay off the PS4 without worrying about spending my cash on it and I could wait for the Wii U to have a larger library before buying into it. When it comes to trades, I am not one to be so easily enticed, but this has enticed me since I care very little for the system and I do feel their will be a price drop soon since it's so close to the PS4's price. What do you think?
Trade in a Wii U for 280$ at GameStop?
@mrpilkington: $280 sounds like a pretty good deal for just the console.
@freakache: Owning a stagnating console seems like the worse idea.
Considering Pikmin 3 comes out next month, this seems like a bad idea.
I don't own a Wii U, but this ^.

Pikmin is not worth 280$

Not really. Sooner or later games will come out worth playing as there always is. Then you have to buy the thing back for more than what you got for the sale most of the time.

If you're not planning to buy one next month for Pikmin I might argue that you opinion, like mine, is of questionable use :P

Perhaps not on it's own, but I'd say that Pikmin, The Wonderful 101, Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong, Wind Waker, and Mario Kart are.

Not for me.
I would jump on this if I had one to give, I don't see the Wii U getting offers like that again...ever.
$280 sounds like a good price -- I bought one when they first came out; I can't remember how much I paid for the premium system. Still, that seems to be about in the ballpark. Go ahead and pay off your PS4. Or, buy 2.5 months' worth of groceries. :)
Groceries? This is store credit to a GameStop we are talking about here. LOL JK
Traded mine yesterday and got my son a 3ds. I lost all hope for that console when they announced they had Retro working on a DK sequel, broke my damn heart.
@mrpilkington: Ooh, real good point. Though you'd think GameStop would have some sort of promotion where they sold Hot Pockets and "GAMR FUEL" in-store.

They should bring GamerFuel back. That stuff wasn't bad and I liked mixing it with Whiskey. Tasted great!
