Hey I've got a 480w PSU and wanting to know is it gunna run my 4850 and will this 4850 work well enough with my AMD athlon 64 x2 4600+ please i need help before i buy this GFX card!

I had a 500w psu running my 4870 with and intel 2.66 core 2 running @ 3.2 and I had no problems. so maybe you should be straight

Wattage wise you should be fine, 12v rail wise? I'm not sure as generic PSUs are really unreliable on that front. Good luck.

I would try for a 4870 or a 9800.  The prices should start to drop since the 5870 came out. I know you have question about your psu,  If you do not have alot of hdds I would try  it. Good luck

@vosco: Um a 4870 needs 2 6pin pci connectors and my 480w generic PSU has none so Ima use a 2 4pin molex connector thing and a 9800 sucks compared to a 4850 fact.

A solid PSU is as important as your CPU and GPU. I'd strongly advise in investing in something that not only has the capacity you need (which is easily calculable if you sit down with a pencil and your component specs) but is robust and reliable.  PC Power & Cooling is a superb PSU manufacturer and I've had great experiences specifically with their Silencer 750w.
