Hello and thanks for your interest in the Unsanctioned Unofficial Game Pass Game Club. If you don't know what it is you can see more about the Game Club here. There is also where you can suggest games for future cycles, though this current vote will stay with the games listed below.

To vote in this thread simply list your top two choices with one labeled choice 1 and the other labeled choice 2. Choice 1 gets 3 points and choice 2 gets 1 point. The game with the highest point count wins. If there is a tie then I will break it, but I will not be voting otherwise.

You can vote even if you have not participated in the Game Club (and voting does not obligate you to participate but we ask that you not vote if you have no interest in participating) and you do not need to vote to participate in this or future cycles. You are also free to vote for games you are interested in and not participate if that game does not win, though it's more fun if people are willing to try games they may not be initially interested in.

Voting will close on April 24, when the results will be announced. I will tabulate the votes then so you may change your vote at any time prior by editing your post. Please do not make multiple voting posts in this thread, though discussion is encouraged. You can feel free to campaign for the game you want to win and make arguments why it is the best choice.

Games for which there appears to be interest will remain on the list in subsequent weeks but may be cycled out if we reach a point where there are too many nominated game for orderly voting. Games removed from the list will remain eligible to be nominated for future cycles at which point they will be put back on the list.

NOMINATED GAMES:

Olija (Cinematic action platformer with a dark story and an equal mix of combat/platforming. Approx 4.5 hours long.)

Immortality (Sam Barlow FMV game with supernatural horror elements. Approximately 6 hours long.)

You Suck at Parking (Vehicle obstacle racing game where the goal is to park. Approximately 9 hours long.)

SOMA (First person horror/stealth/adventure. Approximately 9 hours long.)

Shadow Warrior 3: Over the top FPS game continuing the revival of the irreverent Shadow Warrior Series (Approximately 5.5 hours long)

Mortal Shell: Soulslike ARPG focusing on Souls style gameplay in a sparse and barren world (Approximately 10.5 hours long)

Ghost Song: Metroidvania where you explore a creepy and dead world. Very much leans to the Metroid side. (Approximately 9 hours long)

@bigsocrates Hey I voted in the last one of these but never saw anything more about it. Forgive me, I haven't really used the GB forums before, where can I go for the discussion of these games?

@grantimus: there's not really an easy hub for all the discussions, but they live in the corresponding game's forum. So for instance we're playing Beacon Pines right now, and discussions are still currently asked to be labeled with spoiler tags, but here is the link while it lives in the Beacon Pines forum.

My votes are for

1. Olija

2. Ghost Song

@noboners: tyvm for the info, but how do I even get to the game forum, other than your link? I go to "forums" but don't see links to individual games. I've even searched for UUGPGC and all I get are these voting threads.

AND: On top of all that, there was never a post saying which game won in the last voting thread.

@grantimus: That's fair, perhaps moving forward, @bigsocrates could place a link/post on the voting thread to the discussion page once voting is tallied? If not, let me know and I don't mind doing it.

General rule of thumb is to check the site the day voting concludes (or just every Monday since 9 times out of 10 it's up Monday morning) and you should see the discussion thread on the front page.

As for how to find specific game threads, just search for the game on the website in the top right corner, and on the game's page itself there should be a "Forum" Tab

Olija is the winner this week.

I don't always post the winner in the thread because anyone can see who won from looking at the public votes. It's not like there are a ton of votes to tally to do it yourself. I have in the past maintained a list of all winners in the main thread and I should go update that but I haven't had a ton of time recently and I do this administrative work just for fun so it's just not a priority over, for example, re-proof reading something I plan to file with a court that day.

All threads are put into the forum of the relevant game. The GB forums can be somewhat arcane to newcomers I guess but I've been using them for a decade so it's not something I really think about. Nonetheless you can just look at the main forum feed and they should pop there, and you can just page back a little ways to see my icon. I don't post that many threads so it shouldn't take more than a minute or two to find the latest thread that way.
