My Pros:

  • Extremely well balance weapons.
  • Bloom prevents adds more tactical timing with shots.
  • The omission of Spike Grenades and Incendiary Grenades. Face it, the Spike grenades were dumb downed Plasma grenades and Incendiary grenades are molotovs in disguise.
  • More customizations than ever before.
  • The new game modes are awesome, especially Invasion.
  • Melees aren't overpowered as they were in Halo 3.
  • Health bars and kits make multi-player more challenging.
  • Elites actually play a little differently than Spartans this time.
  • Armor abilities are well balanced and add a strategic layer to the combat.
  • It's good old fast paced Halo action.
  • More customizable Spartans.
  • FireFight has been given an overhaul from ODST's, and there's matchmaking this time
  • Forge World is truly something else.
  • Theater mode!

My Cons:
  • Elites aren't as customizable as the Spartans
  • Spawn-points are broken. When is Bungie ever going to patch this?
  • Provides the weakest maps in the series. They're either remakes, or rehashed from the single-player. Real lazy work Bungie.
  • Plasma launcher is over-powered.
  • Why did they take out Survival Horde mode in FireFight? That was my favorite part of ODST's FireFight mode.
  • The fact that I can't record four player campaign co-op in theater mode.
  • Assassinations are entertaining, but don't add anything to the core gameplay.

Despite it's problems, the multi-player is damn good as always. It's even better than the game's single-player component, even thought that isn't saying much. Reach arguably contains the best multi-player in the series.

I can't remember, it's been a while since I played it. I feel like getting back into it for a bit though. But I thought the game modes were awesome, yet there should have been more maps.

pros:
  •  Player animations are no longer robotic and cartoony
  • Hit scan/no need to lead your shots
  • No delay lag from grenades and rockets
  • No horrible designed grenade reactions from other explosions
  • No useless and overpowered deployments
  • Guns actually feel like guns
  • Bloom opens up to more sandbox options, like a scoped pistol and a precision rifle
  • Shotgun and plasma pistol are actually useful
  • No geometry details that fuck up grenade collisions and maneuvers (I'm looking at you, Blackout)
  • Decreased warp angle of the HUD, improving peripheral vision and vertical turning while still keeping the immersible feeling that you're a Spartan.

cons:
  • Armor abilities (except for sprint)
  • Bloom is horribly done
  • Grenades are overpowered
  • The plasma launcher and Assault Rifle are useless
  • Concussion rifle, DMR, Sniper, and Shotgun are overpowered (better than being useless, though...)
  • Maps are absolutely unacceptable beyond Bungie's standards
  • Slow movement speed and wonky, yet short jump length ruin the intuitiveness of movement and travel that Halo is known for
  • Core shooting is just garbage in general
  • Double melees don't amend anything--the concept of meleeing in a shooter is to add more damage to the target after shooting, or when out of ammo. Halo Reach fucks this concept up (at least CoD's knifing is worse)
^^^ Added with the accursed lunge that has followed suit since Halo2, the skill and limitation of meleeing is butchered, if-not lost forever.
  • Hitscan, while preferable from Halo3's dumb idea in detailing every bullet, has made the sniper too damn easy to fucking use. It's unavoidable now, and any loser with the sniper can become a king with it--that's why it's overpowered
  • DMR + Grenade around corner = instant death. This is caused by the slow movement speed and limited jump duration. Halo3 had this problem, Halo Reach keeps it.
  • Forge World maps, while bad, carry promise of having more maps in matchmaking, like remakes. Too bad Bungie doesn't give a shit about it's fans anymore.

Halo Reach's multiplayer is not enjoyable at all. They fixed few things and kept, and even added, more problems.

Okay, you're either trolling (assuming by your avatar) or you're solely judging it from the beta.

The only reason why they're weaker in the actual game is because the jump length is increased slightly. Even if you do jump away from grenades, they will still damage you. There's no way to avoid them unless you use armor lock; but even then, you won't know when to activate the damn thing before you take damage from a grenade, considering there's a 1 second delay towards armor lock activation. You also won't know when to deactivate it, since grenades have a tendency to be invisible to players.

Grenades have a large fucking blast radius, as do other explosive weapons and vehicles. Bungie intended this to appease casual players who don't like shooting and aiming in FPSs.
