Well, i've been looking into the topic; Is Gaz (CoD4) Ghost (MW2)? and i've been finding that everyone loves Gaz (or did...hehe) from the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and was upset when he was killed, but when we heard that there's a character called Ghost...and he is played by the same person (Craig Fairbrass), there was a huge uproar about "Gaz isn't dead" and "Ghost is Gaz". Well, i've done a lot research and I think that there's no right or wrong answer, it's up to YOU to decide. What do you think? Go ahead and tell me.
What do you think of the subject Gaz from CoD4 is Ghost from MW2?
Who cares? They're both dead and were both the stupid "Everyone likes me because I'm suppose to be the cool guy" type. I was happy when both of them bit the dust.
Who cares? There's probably going to be some man that shoots people with the same voice so it doesn't really matter does it?
" Gaz got shot in the fucking head. That's all I've got to say. "So unless hes like Jesus or sumthing, they are 2 different people.
To be honest I never really cared about Ghost and never really understood why others did. He was just a faceless soldier with a cockney accent, Gaz had a lot more personality. Do people like him because his balaclava has a skull on it? Don't get me wrong that is cool, but it's not enough to flesh out a character.
Because IW thinks they can make an awesome character by how he looks and not his personality, which apparently succeeded.
I love how many people whined that he died. I laughed because I had a feeling it was gonna happened and then how they tried to make you feel sad about it and want revenge...
"All of the little kids liked him because he wore goofy headphones, sunglasses, and a balaclava with a skull imprint on it.To be honest I never really cared about Ghost and never really understood why others did. He was just a faceless soldier with a cockney accent, Gaz had a lot more personality. Do people like him because his balaclava has a skull on it? "
This is only because they wanted to sell that mini comic series with MW2.
"IS GHOST GAZ? FIND OUT IN THIS MONTHS MODERN WARFARE 2 COMIC!!"
If you look in the older videos for the MW2, (someone on this site pointed it out) there's the scene were they're torturing the dude, and a man has a normal face, later they gave him the Ghost mask, my guess is the as RecSpec, comic idea pops up, add him in the game.
"Yeah, I didn't get it either. To be honest I never really cared about Ghost and never really understood why others did. He was just a faceless soldier with a cockney accent, Gaz had a lot more personality. Do people like him because his balaclava has a skull on it? I remember Jeff saying on the Bombcast that the only character they could make a worthwhile spin-off about would be Ghost. Why? I don't recall Ghost being a spectacular character, people just fawned over the character because of the loose connection to Gaz (apparently there can only be one person in the world with a cockney accent) and his cool balaclava - at least that's the only reason I can think of.

I guess it can be attributed to the large audience MW2 really appealed to. I don't mean to cause offense to people on these boards who liked the game (plenty of legitimate reasons to like it), but there was a certain attitude to the game of "FUCK YEAH GUNS AND 'SPLOSIONS AND SHIT WOOOO! THIS DUDE HAS A SKULL ON HIS FACE THAT'S BADASS!!". At least that's why I gathered from it.
Completely different characters. Same voice actor to keep fans happy but....
