With experience from guns despite not being drafted in Sweden ( :D ), the thing here is implementation, mechanics, the feel you can get from it being a point and click game controlled by mouse and keyboard or joypad. I've got two:

Receiver - feels mechanically right with everything you do, high on the immersion, the game itself requires you to tap forwards in order to run and that is another thing that helps one dive right in there and fear for ones digital life.

Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis and on - certainly not pretty even at the time of release, but when it comes to realistic use in a realistic field this is my number one still, got it installed 13 years after its original release (no problem on Win7x64) and it is absolutely great. Maybe not everyone's cup of 4loco with the pacing, but immersion, yes!

You won't get the smell and impact that reverbs through your entire body, not the adrenaline or the weight, but games can do a better job and not necessarily at the cost of fun.
