They are the most easily dismissed, but there's been an increasing stream of decent to great licensed games recently.

I was thinking that if Platinum had a huge publisher backing them with nearly endless resources, they could make an amazing Fullmetal Alchemist game (prepare for 100% anime if you click that link). From a gameplay perspective, Platinum usually has it on lock, but even though they can produce a pretty game (W101), they're still a bit rough around the edges. More money and more people could help them flesh out all the visual and non-gameplay aspects (story, music, etc).

Basically I want that awesome patented Platinum gameplay, combined with a lovingly assembled story and pristine visuals.

Like if this KH3 pic was a real thing that a video game could actually look like and was combined with this FMA art:

@frostyryan: That also makes a lot of sense. Platnium and crazy go hand-in-hand. Though, I think a Kill-La-Kill game would be mostly one fight after the next. I would want FMA to have at least some exploration and investigative aspects to it between the fighting.

I've always wanted a full fledged RPG in the Avatar universe. I know Platinum is doing that Legend of Korra game, and I think it will be pretty good for what it is (that being a $15 download only character action game that will likely only be a few hours long), but it's by no means my dream game for that universe.

I've always thought an RPG set in the universe but not directly relating to any specific storylines could be great. You wouldn't even have to be the Avatar, instead you get the option to create a character and choose your combat style, be it one of the four types of bending or a martial arts/weapon specialist. The world is just full of detail and has clearly established lore, so telling an entirely original story with new characters would present tons of opportunity.

As far as a developer is concerned, I don't have any specifically in mind. I think any proficient WRPG developer would be my ideal choice as long as the writing and story was handled primarily by those that created the shows. If I had to pick one developer however, I'd probably go with Obsidian since they tend to make great RPGs and they've shown many times that they are very good when it comes to working with someone else's material (most recently with South Park and previously with KOTOR, Neverwinter Nights, and Fallout).

A Guardians of the Galaxy 5-player coop game that isn't some mobile or download only trash. I don't care who makes it, as long as the game is good.

I'd like to see Starbreeze construct another Riddick story and Machinegames to create the gameplay. Yes, I intentionally mentioned both of them.

An Inception game made by Volition or Ninja Theory. With Saint's Row IV and DmC, these two developers showed they could make the kind of crazy shit that an Inception game needs.

I want someone to make a Babylon 5 game. Like so many others here, I'm kinda leaning towards Volition to do it, since they both have pretty good writers, judging from the Saints Row games, and made some fantastic space combat games back in the early 00's - the Freespace series.

I want Ubisoft's Valiant Hearts people to make a game based on Disney's Talespin (the rhythm game-ish flight-from-the-zeppelin section feels like something straight out of Talespin) and I kinda think From Software could do something interesting with the cyberpunk manga Blame!.

A Sonic the Hedgehog RPG based on the Archie comics. That universe is so much better than the actual Sonic canon, and there's so many great characters and story arcs that they could use.
My pick for developer would be Sega WOW, which is comprised of members from Sega Overworks, who produced games like Skies of Arcadia and Sakura Taisen.

Another pick would be a Repo Man game made by Telltale. I mean, just think about that, you get into crazy hijinks re-posessing cars, there's that weird glowing thing in the trunk of a car, man... it'd be great! It would perfectly bridge the gap between Telltale's The Walking Dead, and Telltale's Back to the Future.
If you don't know what Repo Man is... just watch this trailer, and just try to tell me that Telltale couldn't do something awesome with it:

@splodge: I imagine it would be a game where you spend a lot of time walking around the village talking to all sorts of strange people. Like I said, sort of like Shenmue.

Actually the reason I started thinking about The Prisoner as a game is because I got to thinking about all the different tactics video games use to bottle you in: the GTA games that have no roads out of town, Mass Effect which its huge cityscapes but never lets you leave the spaceport, the Assassin's Creed series with its weird cyber-walls... Every video game imprisons you in one way or another, and considering the thematic content of The Prisoner, I think that it would be a perfect fit for video games. I can even imagine scenarios where the game begins to function as an extension of Number 2's will, and the player would have to come to the realization that he or she won't get anywhere by simply following the game's mission objectives blindly, that in fact you need to undermine and defy them. I think a Prisoner game could have the potential to be really interesting.

Plus, The Prisoner has a built-in gameplay conceit for keeping the player from wandering too far off the map...

This doesn't really fit the topic, but give Ganbarion the Castlevania license. They put an excellent spin on the idea of using a chain weapoin in a 3D environment in Pandora's Tower, and a whip-wielding Belmont would be interesting to see in their hands. And also if they avoid the Lords of Shadow universe like the plague.

I'd like to see Starbreeze make a Die Hard game. Hell, remake the first movie. They don't need to make it a shooter per se; no shooting 20 guys on every level. Instead have it more stealth focused, slowly prey on the terrorists using your small amount of resources. Only ever have 1-4 terrorists roaming the maps at once.

Rocksteady making a Dick Tracy game could be rad. They made Urban Chaos, a pretty underrated FPS game about a riot squad in a gritty urban setting. They've made Arkham, and Arkham City had a really cool comic-like art design for the city itself. Use a similar detective system to Arkham, use a less athletic brawling system, and then throw in gunfights (maybe even zoom into first person for that?)

Tomorrow, When The War Began.

It is an Australian book series that was about teenagers fighting as rebels against an invading army. I absolutely loved it as a kid and It is still my favorite book series.

I am not sure who would make it. It would have to be open world with hit and run tactics against a superior foe and have the emotional drama of the book. Maybe the people behind STALKER but with some help fron Bethesda and Bioware.

I love the Witcher games and I'm really looking forward to The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, but I don't know that CDP would be a great fit for an Avatar game. Not to say they couldn't go outside their comfort zone, but I don't think the tone their games have would really work for Avatar. Even with as dark as Korra got this past season (especially for a kids show), tension breaking humor and fun character interactions are just as important as the heavier drama and action to the overall quality of these shows, and that's not the first thing that springs to mind when I think of CD Projekt's catalog.

I also don't know that I'd love something set during the war. I know there's 100 years of time we didn't see much of, but everything important about the war was thoroughly explored in the show. I'd much rather the setting of a potential game focus on exploring new corners of what is one of my favorite fictional universes. The universe is so full of great story potential that I think limiting things to events that have been thoroughly covered would be a disservice, I'd much rather see something set generations before the war, or better yet in between The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.

A FPS co-developed between People Can Fly and Platinum; it doesn't even have to be licensed... Just let Platinum design the world and enemies, and PCF design the combat and the weapons.

Give the Jojo's Bizarre Adventure licence to the people inside CyberConnect2 that made Asura's Wrath. Just let them focus on Stardust Crusader, but give them the resources to make the story mode like the Asura/Naruto games...

A Telltale game based on the True Detective world; just amp up the supernatural...

Platinum Games, anyone? :D

Yup, lots of people said it was the best Star Trek game at the time it was released, but it's much closer to B5 in pretty much all ways. Maybe a little DS9, which also was really similar to B5.

I could kinda see Bioware doing a B5 game, though I'm not a huge fan of their writing, but if it was all vetted by J. M. Straczynski before it was put in the game, it could probably turn out alright.

I've always wanted something set in the Thundarr the Barbarian world. It's a destroyed civilization but it's not bleak or barren. It's vibrant and set in many highly recognizable locations albeit broken and overgrown. Also, unlike most post-apocalyptic games it is teaming with wizards, mutants, dinosaurs, robots, aliens and cavemen. At first, I thought Bethesda would be the obvious choice to develop, but Thundarr is super goofy, so I'd pick Volition to make the game.

My second choice would be a Wizard of Oz game by Team Ninja.
