I'm still using my 32" Sony Trinitron SDTV. For a SDTV it's not that bad. I'm actually able to use component cables and through the 360 settings force the picture into widescreen mode. By forcing it into widescreen mode it enhances the resolution of the picture (not anywhere near HDTV levels mind you). I've been waiting for years to get an HDTV. Problem is, I'm never satisfied with the technology. I've always leaned toward plasma for its high motion resolution, perfect viewing angles, and deep contrast. Unfortunately, the only two issues holding me back are phosphor lag and input lag. I know with the 2010 Panasonic plasma models they have decreased the phosphor lag but it's still not enough. I'm hoping with the 2011 models they will just about eliminate it. As for input lag, all HD televisions suffer from it. The great thing about the old tube televisions is that they don't suffer from it. If you enjoy FPS like me, you want as little input lag as possible.

I have looked at some LCD televisions as well. There are plenty of great ones out there but in general they suffer from more picture quality issues than plasma. Although both plasma and LCD are getting better because of 3D technology. I'm not talking about actual 3D itself, but the strict requirements to view 3D. The strict requirements for 3D are much greater than 2D. This has forced plasma and LCD manufactures to step up their quality. So for all of the hate on 3D itself, at the very least we are getting higher quality televisions as a result.

Also, for you LCD fans, the 2011 models should have an interesting new technology. You should see the elimination of the dreaded "Soap Opera Look" when you activate 120/240hz mode.

I don't use my tv, i use an acer h213h 21.5" monitor. It does 1080p but it's not the best monitor in the world, I would like to upgrade to LED sometime in the future.

32" LG LH3000.

1080p. Super IPS Panel.  Rich colours. Black level is ok.  Lowest input lag of any large TV out there. Tested at Shoryuken.com for SFIV on the AV thread and confirmed. Only way you're going to get less input and a fast response time is to get a specialist monitor, not nearly as large.

I have a 52" piece of shit that only supports 480p and 1080i. The joys of playing 80% of my PS3 games in 480p.

I have a 19" LCD monitor that I play game on, it's great and has served me well for 3 years.

What I REALLY want is my sister's 40" Samsung LED TV.

Most PS3 games don't support 1080i, and the PS3 is unable to upscale. So instead of upscaling to 1080i like my 360 does. It downscales to 480p.
