Would you buy a console from Amazon?

I'm in Australia and games/consoles are rather expensive here. I can save a whole 100$ buy ordering an xbox from Amazon but I'm not sure if it's a good idea. Would you say ordering a console from amazon is reliable? Has anyone here done so?

Are you ordering from Amazon itself or a third party vi amazon?

I purchased a PS3 through Amazon. It was brand new and it worked great. I wouldn't go for a used one though but that's really up to you. I just didn't want to run the risk of getting a refurbished machine.

I bought my PS3 through Amazon. Got a better deal on it and didn't have to pay sales tax. Win win.
 
::EDIT:: I'm assuming you're talking about Amazon.com itself, not a seller on Amazon Marketplace. Because that could be a different matter entirely (though I haven't ever had any problems).

I would as long as you do research if it's sold by another merchant on Amazon.

You might end up paying the difference and then some in customs fees. Other than that, Amazon is 100% legit and reliable.

I would never recommend against it but I always like to get my big purchases from retail stores. I say if the saving is that big then just go for it.

I ordered my 360 through amazon and had no problems. It was also tax free, saved $24 by ordering on amazon.

I bought a 360 through Amazon. I lived in a very small rural town at the time. It lasted for a good 12 months before it red ringed. But that was common at the time. 

I've had a good experience of buying a 360 through Amazon, so I'd recommend it.

If you buy new, there's pretty much no reason to worry.

yeah, i would buy from amazon. if it's amazon it's self and not somebody selling it. it's ok to buy from them. i got my ps3 from them.

I buy everything including toilet paper from Amazon.

That's where I got my PS3. Awesome deal. Amazon is pretty incredible.

Not used or from a 3rd party. Other than that, I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with amazon.

I'd buy one from Amazon, if it was sold by Amazon.

As long as it's directly from Amazon, then yes.

I actually purchased all of my current consoles from Amazon.  But not Amazonian 3rd parties.

90% of my games are from Amazon so yeah I probably would. Buying from them directly is perfectly safe.

I would. I bought a DSi through Amazon, and had no problems. I use Amazon al the time and have never really had any issues. Plus if you pay over $25, they give free shipping on their stuff, which is nice. Not sure if that works the same way if you're in Australia, however.

just bought a PS3 Slim from there. came with $50 credit towards future purchases. but i've bought other things there too like textbooks for school. they have very good prices IMO.

Bought myself a DSi and my girlfriend a PS3 through Amazon, free 2-day shipping and no sales tax?  Can't be beat!

I would most definitely buy from Amazon.com, as others have said... as long as it is directly from Amazon itself. Hell I buy practically everything but groceries and clothing from them. Buying games from Amazon is especially nice because of the credit you often get for buying new games from them; I have gotten quite a few games completely free in this way and will be getting Dead Space 2 for free because of game purchase credit.

Both my 360 and my PS3 came from Amazon UK. No problems, no fuss, no worries. Got good deal on both.

I pre-ordered a 3DS let's hope it actually comes near launch(BC it comes out on a sunday so I won't get it until Tue)

I've always had very good experiences with Amazon including buying my PS2 and Xbox there back in 2000,  BUT I'm in the US so my experiences may not apply to you in Australia. 

I am thinking about buying the slim 360 combo with Forza because I can't find it anywhere else. The only thing I am worried about is it getting roughed up during shipping.
