The X8OX Natal 720
Xbox 8
I like it based on the implication that it would run on Windows 8. Other than that, yea wtf happened to 3 - 7?
They should just follow the new video game naming convention for reboots, sequels, etc. and drop off all modifiers and numbers: XBOX

Why did they call Xbox "Two" 360 instead? Microsoft is gonna do whatever they want with the names of their consoles.

@Trylks said:Because they aren't releasing Windows 80. Synergy! Also because 8 is twice as many as PS4 (therefore better) but 80 is way less than 360 (therefore worse). Maths!Kinect-u!

X8OXWhy not going one step further with X80X?
That makes too much sense, I'm guessing they will go for something that makes less sense. When people are about to buy your product you don't want them to think too much, you want them to buy it in a heartbeat.
The B converted into an 8 and the 8 into an ∞ seems feasible, but at the same time it's very predictable, who could have foreseen going to XBox 360? I'm guessing either XBox8 (AKA X8OX) will be announced very soon or it will have a completely different name, like XBox4Ever.
* BTW: X8OX makes me think of XBox chocho, can't really explain why, it's the combination of 8 and X. Not best name decision, but that may happen only to me.
They are calling it fucking xbox 8 so it has the same branding as there crap new tablet OS with that metro crap on it.

"xbox" by itself is a stupid name who cares what kind of number they decide to tack on that?
WHAT?
@Cubical: Go cry in a fucking corner baby, it's just Windows 7 with a much improved Explorer and what is basically an optional thing on the side that is actually just a pretty rainmeter skin, basically. Only without all of the performance draining on your system. Your an idiot for just assuming some asinine bullshit. I'm using W8 preview right now, and nothing is really that different except where they improved and added some great features.

There is a thing I learn with the show Pretender. Eight sideways is the simbol for infinite.
infinite > 360
So there is a good chance that is the codename of the new Xbox. Probably not the final one because chances are Microsoft will still make field research for the final name.
I thought the codename was Durango?
I'd prefer Xbox Infinity. I feel like naming it 8 would really confuse people, but at the same time, it would promote cross platform compatibility by means smart glass and wifi with Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8. Which is awesome. So I still think they should call it inifinity - it has a unique name yet keeps the "8" structure for design or symbolic purposes.
