Your Game of the Year for 2010
No no more heroes 2, thats a surprise, but hey i've never played it and its on the wii. plus i am glad to see Deadly Premonition in the top 25 i like that game it was fun.
god help me. i just got deadly premonition and im really enjoying it. i mean the game play is pure shit, but my god the story and characters are pure fucking gold.
Nice to see Heavy Rain in the top 10 and that Enslaved made so many lists!
That's some interesting data, though.
A great list overall - but I'm not sure on Fallout: New Vegas.
The game was well written, good pacing, interesting characters, and a great environment. But the bugs... MY GOD THE BUGS. A major title release like that should have been held back to fix all the problems. Releasing it like they did was unacceptable.
I would agree, great game! Red Dead is a very, very close second though, especially with the Undead DLC.
I really don't understand the love for Heavy Rain. It's way too serious for how goofy and nonsensical the plot is. The atmosphere is really well done, and a few scenes are pretty exciting. But personally I thought the characters were too poorly written and blandly acted for me to care about what happened to them. To each their own, but I personally hate David Cage's games. I don't feel it deserves the huge amount of praise it's getting. The game I played did not deserve 10/10 scores. It's FAR from perfect. Perfect is the last word I'd use to describe Heavy Rain.
Maybe my priorities are just weird? I do like Deadly Premonition. It too is a big mess of a game, but at least it's a charming and self aware mess. It doesn't claim to be a work of art or a serious adult story like HR. DP just stands on its own as a love it or hate it experience. No pretense involved.

"I think people like Heavy Rain for what it represents as well as what it is. It's basically trying to be a proof of concept for story and game as a single intertwined thing.
Happy with this list, even better with Mass Effect 2 at the top <3
And seeing Black Ops bested by Mario Galaxy 2 is a bonus too.
