Condolences to Jeff and the Gerstmann family.
Jeff Gerstmann Appreciation Thread
Hey Jeff --
Don't know if you'll read this (I probably wouldn't), but I know your Dad would be proud of the man he raised, and the fact that you've made such a huge difference in the lives of countless strangers -- even if it's just laughing at jokes about Riker's beard. It's hard to think about during times like this, but you've got a lot of love coming your way, from friends, family and thousands of random Internet strangers.
Thanks for all you do, and I'm sorry for your loss.
Throwing my hat in the ring with these other good duders, take care, Jeff! Sorry for your loss, always loved the weird stories about you two. Hang in there!
Really sorry to hear that. Jeff is one of my favorite people to "hang out" with. He's provided me with so much entertainment over the past 10+ years. I never met his father, but he did a fine job raising Jeff. I'm sure he was very proud of him before he passed.
Sorry for your loss, Jeff. I know that we're just posts on a message board, but hey, if there's even a 1% chance that this thread might help you feel a little bit better, I'm glad it exists.
My condolences to you and your family Jeff.
I don't know what kind of relationship you had with your father but I'm sure he's proud of the person you've become. You've brought so much laughter and entertainment to thousands of strangers, all while doing something that you love. I can't think of a greater gift a son could give to a father than a happy life.
My sincere condolences to Jeff and his family, it sucks beyond imagining losing a close family member like this, specially considering that he already lost a dear friend only last year...
I would also like to point out that Jeff is one of the most awesome individuals that I'm probably never get to really know(unfortunately), without him this amazing place would not exist and it is a huge part of my life by now.
So thank you Jeff and I hope to see you back when you're ready.
Mr Gerstmann is half of the reason we have the endlessly entertaining, irreplaceable Jeff to brighten our weeks. I am so grateful to Jeff's father for the son he raised, and am dreadfully sorry that he has left us. I owe the man more than I could put into words. I send my heartfelt condolences to Jeff, the Gerstmann family, and Mr Gerstmann's friends during an exceptionally difficult time.
In that R.B.I. Baseball Encyclopedia Bombastica, it sounded like he was a great influence on your passion for games. At least, if it weren't for your enthusiasm for that game in particular, which it seems he had much to do with, I would have no reason to give a fuck about an 8-bit baseball game. I think we're all thankful for how much you care about shit most people have never spared a thought for. Thanks Jeff. Heart goes out.
My thoughts and condolences go out to Jeff and his family. I'm sorry for your loss Jeff. You're the best and hope you're doing okay.
My condolences to Jeff and his family. If this thread was not already evident of how much people love and support you, I wanted to go ahead and say something. For a little over a decade, you have been a personal hero of mine. I've followed you guys from Gamespot when I was just a kid until now. I've always considered you guys family, even though it seems strange to think that about people who run a website. You are sincerely one of the funniest people on the planet. You've brought joy to countless numbers of people, and near constantly on every piece of content you've produced. I'll always be a fan and friend of the site, and especially during these times its great to see all of the many people who feel the very same about you.
Oh, man. I'm sorry.
You took a bit of a risk opening up to a sometimes hostile internet, but I feel like this community has your back. Keep strong. Anyone that raised someone like yourself had to have some amount of greatness in him.
All of the love I can give is being given to Jeff Gerstmann right now <3
I'm truly sorry for your loss, and want you to know that your community is extremely appreciative of all of the work you put in <3
