I had my wisdom teeth pulled when I was 17 following 3 years of braces/retainer. I would have gone that route than cutting into my sinuses. Ouch. Well, here's hoping you don't look like this when they're done. And if you do, I hope you get the cool powers, too.
A possible 'goodbye', just in case I die on the operating table.
Ah. Dental surgery. Trust me I know what it's like. My first was when I was 11 and I'm due to be knocked back out again soon for more fun times. I also had teeth removed without any anethestic working. However, having your jaw worked on like that I can only imagine how painful it will be. I wish you the best of luck and hope you have a swift and as painless recovery as possible! =]
P.S I don't think pink teeth are healthy =P
I don't think anyone is a big fan of surgery and this sounds like a pretty big operation. Hopefully you'll go unconscious and everything go without a hitch.
YOU GOT THIS BRO.
Well according to this the procedure is supposed to be over with. Give us a sign if you're alive!
And.. let us know how it went, once you're coherent enough to read this! :D
good luck!!!!!!!!Went OK, I'm sitting here pounding Morphine every ten minutes, it's starting to give me a stomach ache though. My teeth are banded together so tight I can't even fit a straw in... But I'm just glad I finally got it over with. I'll be in the hospital to thursday, then start my marathon of sitting around the house, plying WoW and watching Top Chef. My iPod touch is starting to run low on battery though, I should page the nurse and have her plug it in...
EDIT: Dont forget to let us know how it went.

Sweet christ just thinking about your procedure is disturbing me more than anything that Dead Space 2 did... well... except... no, we won't speak of that, thing.
Anyway it's a good thing your into video games because if there's anything that Child's Play has taught me it's that they are the best thing for recuperation.
Good luck. I would be going crazy when he got to the part where they said they would detach my god dam jaw from my body.
On the plus side, if they can't reattach it you could get a metric fuck ton of working being an extra in zombie movies. Always look at the silver lining!

" @Weltal said:<--- Best Venture Brothers character" @TooWalrus said:there are worse venture brothers' characters to replicate. there are also better ones...brock... "" Let me explain this, they're going to cut open the roof of my mouth, and enter my sinuses. Once there, they're going to cut through my upper jaw, and disconnect it from my skull. Then, they'll move it into a more appropriate position, and fasten it there with a series of plates and screws.Yikes, that sounds crazy. And I can still only think of this.
Good luck sir! I hope your iron jaw serves you well. "
Good luck with the surgery!
I've had a few operations for various things (which includes dental work, but mostly due to my Arthritis) and I have had issues with anesthetic. In all the operations I've had I would fall asleep due to the anesthetic but unknown to me by body would get violent and kick about. When I had a camera in my right knee I even bent back up after being given the anesthetic which I had no idea about, surgeon wasn't very pleased. So I know what a pain in the arse it can be, I was lucky in one respect in that I did discover that I was allergic to something they usually put in anesthetic so it's not been all bad.
Had a brace to for many years, but I grew to hate it so much and felt the Dentist were fecking me around so told them to remove it, I don't regret it at all and still think they were being dodgy as my dentist would try to sweet talk the assistant while messing in my mouth.... bastard!
Wish you look my friend, hope to see you back on Giantbomb well very soon :D
Well, your story is almost like mine, minus the part with the horrible surgery.Stupid rubber bands, who comes up with such ways of fixing teeth.Anyways, good luck with the surgery, hope you come out alive.
Well looks like I'm late to wish you luck. Glad it went well and you still have your face. Don't go too heavy on the morphine. They just kept giving it to me constantly when I was in the hospital, it was great, except eventually I started throwing up from it. That was no fun.
Chin up dude (pun completely intended)
Checked ya profile and glad to hear it went well :)
As someone who has had major and minor surgery performed multiple times under both general and local anesthetic, all I can say is good luck, have Batman, and wear your battle scars proudly.
EDIT: Skimmed the OP without paying any attention to dates or words that would have indicated that your surgery was already over... sounds like you made it out ok. Hooray!
I'm not going to sit here and tell you you are being a pussy getting worked up over this stuff, but saying "A possible 'goodbye', just in case I die on the operating table." for orthodontic surgery is you worrying way too much.
Almost 3 years ago I had complications from appendicitis which lead to some pretty serious surgery, if it all went tits up, short of dying I might have had to have an intestine transplant. I'm not saying this to gloat, I'm saying this to point out my attitude: You can't escape major surgery, you have to face it head on. The people performing it have been trained for at least 5 years in what they do, they are the best care you are going to get. Once you are under, you won't feel a thing and when you wake up all you will have to do is lie there and chill out while you recover. Sure there might be some pain, there are drugs for that. Once you are over it your life will be better off for it. There is no logic in fearing what you can't avoid, especially when it is something that will benefit you in the long run.
