M83 Hurry Up We're Dreaming
Albums of the year so far?
Heard a few tracks from Boris attention please and it's pretty dope also the new wolves in the throne room albulmOh man, how the hell did I forget Wolves in the Throne Room. Celestial Lineage is incredible.
My favorite so far would have to be Beastie Boys' Hot Sauce Committee Part 2. I've listened to that album at least a dozen times since I bought it.
I also liked the albums Boris has released this year. Jay Z and Kanye's Watch the Throne was pretty good too.

5. Bon Iver-Bon Iver
The man who was infamous for fleeing into the forest to compose his debut album returns with a piece that is richer, more complex, and overall better than the first, making for an exciting and lush run.
4. Rome--Danger Mouse/Daniele Luppi/Jack White/Norah Jones
There's no way that an album produced by Danger Mouse, featuring Jack White and Norah Jones, inspired by classic spaghetti westerns, and performed by the original orchestra from The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly could be bad. It's no surprise, then, that the album turned out to be massively entertaining.
3. House of Balloons--The Weeknd
Endlessly brooding, the album feels like a bottomless pit of a dark night of all the world's vices. It's an album you don't want to listen to with anyone else in the room. It's also as inventive as any R & B album in many years, and it interestingly gave way to a creative surge in my own writing.
2. Strange Mercy--St. Vincent
Yes, I have listened to it all legally and it is incredible. Definitely the best of St. Vincent's albums, her newest is a bit more aggressive in its orchestration, but it makes it feel even darker and more daring, and continues the tone of her first single "Cruel" and of her overall theme: a Disney movie gone nightmarishly wrong.
1. Kaputt--Destroyer
Very few albums feature complexity that is as rich as this. Every note, harmonious or discordant, feels premeditated and part of a grand masterpiece. And it is--Kaputt is Bejar's masterpiece, and with a newly acquired undercurrent of jazz, the album is infinitely catchy and relaxing, like something you'd listen to on a Saturday night as you watch out the window.
Death Grips - Exmilitary by deathgrips
NO RIVALS.
I know I'm gonna catch shit for this one, but I loved Cake's newest album. Other than that, Danger Mouse's Rome, Dropkick Murphys, and Bon Iver. Not sure who all else yet.
So far, probably Hell: The Sequel but Mastodon's The Hunter is out in 2 weeks so that may soon change.
I really liked....ummmmm.....do old albums bought this year count? Jk to be honest I'm not that into most modern music starting from 2000-up weird but I honestly think country music are one of the few genres giving us music worth listining 2 and even country music is dieing now a days. Music is really bad man if u were to ask me if there is any thing worth listening 2 Id say no not really it's like pop culture has invaded most things n the artist(rollingstone mag proclaims them artist) are just figment copies of past music n there not doing it right. I miss the great rock bands or great singers, guitarist with attitude and could back it up with cool sounding music non of that scremo bullshit heck even rapping has gone down n they have no talent what so ever they just talk but again no balls for attitude just look at jay z n then u look at 2pac what a difference don't cha think. Look at any rock band today n then look at guns n roses WOW big f'ing difference. Real sad just looking at how music is down n out fumbling like a rolling stone man I'll probably be knocking at heavens door soon it's that bad hopefully with my dear mama since this music has created a ball that I just want to break free and cause an appetite for destruction. {:)-8€=
Haven't heard that many new albums this year, sadly. But from the few I have managed to catch I must say Wasting Light by Foo Fighters rocked hard.
Listening to the new Dream Theater album as we speak on Spotify. Wanted to put it off for a bit, but seeing several people here liking it much I guess I should give it a try.
So I guess the one album I have listen to this year that I really really love is... Darren Korb - Bastion Original Soundtrack
I do not know if it has been mentioned yet (not going to read through five pages.) For me it has to be Hotsauce committee Pt. 2 by the Beastie boys

Ritual really disappointed me, feels just like nocturnal... which isn't a bad thing, but I don't need more of the same.Black Dahlia Murder - Ritual is great, waiting on new Megadeth Nov. 1
My album of the year by far is Moonface - Organ Music Not Vibraphone Like I Hoped. I think anyone who appreciates non-linear song writing and attention to detail should check out anything Spencer Krug has done.
