Ill answer honestly. Alien is more badass. Sorry Im a killer for something with a big head and a little mouth :P And the films were pretty interesting. My opinion may change completely when i see the new Predator film though. Reviving topics ftw?
Unfortunatly your opinion will not change when you see Predators. The begning was better than expected, the rest was worse than I expected. I like the Predators better..the Aliens aren't really any better than animals...mean, nasty, scary animals.
Predator is one of my favorite movies from the 80's. I like Alien and Aliens too, but only about half as much as most people. For some reason even though I enjoy watching them, I kind of get bored when I do. It's weird.
Alien all the way. Much more interesting story and creature design. I don't go for that macho man guns in the jungle bullshit though, so Predator isn't really my thing.
Alien was the real Sci fi masterpiece, besides the obvious other Sci fi films Star wars and the rest of them Alien played a very important role in the shaping of modern sci fi, and it influenced and inspired several sci fi clones, be it Tv shows Vdeo games or other modern Sci fi films
Alien, the first one at least still makes me happy to watch. Just with all the info out about how it was shot, more than half the movie was just improv (especially the beginning, nobody had a script for that part). All that kind of stuff has made me respect that movie the most.
But if we're talking about the creatures themselves I guess I have to go with Predator.

I kind of have the same issue, although are times when I enjoy the hell out the first two Alien movies. I don't think Alien has the same level of lasting entertainment value as Predator, though Aliens stands as one of my all-time favorite sequels.
This; I kind of wish the Aliens won in AvP, mainly because they're a lot cooler overall and appear in better movies. However, Predators are not too shabby and beat Aleins everyday LOL
