I know Kanye produced a bunch of his songs a while back. I'm not sure if he still does though since he got his own contract.

yeah its like thousands of good singers and song writers out their are working their tails off just to get a gig. autotuning is just insulting

Mr Lif, 7L & Esoteric, Akbar, Kool Keith etc, all still make rawer hip hop then Jay Z ever did.
Blueprint 3 is crap IMO. A huge fan of Reasonable Doubt, the first Bluepring, Black Album. Everything I've heard so far is awful (other than the production).
Blueprint 3 is pretty good. There are some songs that may get old and irritating after a while (Reminder comes to mind) but for the most part its a solid album.
I have been an adamant Jay-Z not-liker (I don't wanna say hater) for years now. I believe he said (i'm paraphrasing), "if you don't like me, ignore me" or something. Basically I've been avoiding him ever since he made a name for himself. I'm just kind of hoping he would go away forever so people can talk about his older albums and move on. I don't really see him as anything more than a dude who happened to be at the right place at the right time. As a matter of fact, that whole group of Jay-Z, Biggie, Tupac, and Puffy I really don't much care for.
I was actually considering making a thread asking if anyone else out there didn't like Jay-Z, so go figure.
After him giving props to Grizzly Bear and bands like them I gained a lot of respect for him. I enjoyed his music more than other rap back when he was super popular, but then I wasn't really into music like I am now. I will probably go back and listen to him one of these days though.
Blueprint 3 is ok. More I listen to it the more I like it. He bodied the fuckin dog shyt out of Thank You. By far the best joint on the album. I'll be goin to the local record store tomorrow to pick it up along with Raekwon the Chef's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx Pt. II.
All the songs from BP3 just sound really uninspired. There's no reason, no motivation.
Black Album was his finale (yeah right!), American Gangster (love it or hate it) was a concept album; why is he making this album? And why give it the Blueprint moniker?

@JJWeatherman: Kanye produced most of the Blueprint 3. Although D.O.A. and a couple others are done by No I.D.
Also, everyone should check out Fade to Black. It is a documentary about making the Black Album. It is hard to walk away from that movie without thinking the man is pretty talented.
I really like his older stuff (Dead Presidents will always be in my top rap songs) but after his comeback, he's just become lame. He's boring to listen to now and his switch in style annoyed me too. But like others have said, the beat he gets will always be great so sometimes I just pick up one of his albums just to hear that shit, not him. But then again, I guess the props should go out to the producers.
