"I dual boot on my desktop with windows xp and ubuntu..how can i do that?
As for having no sound... maybe you need to update drivers for your sound card.. thats the first thing i would check."

I tried but It seems that drivers dont work in UBuntu :( its a pain in the butt i think i m going back to vista ;/
I dual boot Ubuntu & XP. Ubuntu is for everyday stuff and XP is for gaming.
I'd be surprised if Ubuntu Forums can't help as they've always been very helpful if I ever needed anything
"...Nothing is worth going back to Vista... Even when you have no sound."That's stupid, imo. It's just cool to hate Vista, nowadays. It's really a great operating system.
Microsoft surveyed people about Vista. Those who said that it was bad were invited to try out a new operating system they were developing. They said that operating system was awesome. Microsoft then told them that it was Vista.

Compatibility isn't a problem since i upgrade my programs constantly and I'm happy as long as i can play Starcraft and Rise of Nations, which i can."...Nothing is worth going back to Vista... You may have to approve the driver (for non-free drivers) in order for it to be installed. If this is not it, find out what your sound card is then go to System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager and search for your brand of sound card, the appropriate driver should be populated in the list. Also, make sure you're not on mute or anything (maybe obvious, but sometimes that's the solution)
