This has been around for awhile.
Are you ****ing serious? This is an actual thing?
Laugh at me? Nonsense. NONSENSE I SAY. That term makes me mad and you must know about it.OP, come back here so that we can all point and laugh at you in unison.
Also, to those saying that it's been around for years, I heard it for the first time this year and it keeps popping up. Maybe it hit Toronto late or something.
you know what's annoying? when people say 'I could care less'. Which is the opposite of what they mean, which is 'I couldN'T care less' -which is to say that they COULD NOT CARE ANY LESS. If they could care less, it means they care. See? Anyway, go preach that one on the mountain because people have been saying 'rents' for ages.
@H2Oyea: You care so much about this one word, but you have no problems with run-on sentences or improperly using all-caps? There are more mature ways to express anger besides all-caps and swearing. The only reason I bring up maturity is because that's what you're claiming they do not have.
I prefer the term parentals personally. :-)
I am going to draw a line in the sand Rufio style. Slang on one side non slang on the other side.

It's like stupid, but like infinitely better than like the previous like generation adding like between like every like word.
Whatup OP First A story!
for a long time me and my buddy used to go to a sandwich store by my college and order subs (grinders hoagies) and call them "Long sandwiches" I would order an Italian Long sandwich, because t tossed a helpful abbreviation (in my part of the US the abbreviation is sub) for a really awkward horrible descriptive statement.
Try doing that to change the trend. in the total opposite direction. Refer to your parents like a viking Beowluf style like "oh yea was out shopping with Frank Son of Bill Son of Gerry King of the West"
Hey, shut up, you can't tell me what to do. You ain't my rent. Seriously though, slang is fucking stupid (most of the time).
Probably because they can't get jobs and so they can't pay rents. Like a double meaning in there thing.
And somebody probably already said just that...I mean, five pages of comments on this thread? Yeah, not going to read them.
ALL CAPS IS THE BEST WAY TO SHOW HOW ANGRY YOU ARE AND RUN ON SENTENCES ARE SICK, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'VE BEEN ANGERED, BUT IF IT MAKES YOU SO FUCKING HAPPY THEN HERE YOU FUCKING GO!!!!!!@H2Oyea: You care so much about this one word, but you have no problems with run-on sentences or improperly using all-caps? There are more mature ways to express anger besides all-caps and swearing. The only reason I bring up maturity is because that's what you're claiming they do not have.
I prefer the term parentals personally. :-)
Also, more mature ways =/= more effective ways.

Hmmm...that's not bad actually.that shit cray
Can't say I've heard someone say that since the late 90s or 2000s. Certainly not a new thing, closer to a dying trend

Slang tends to be fucking stupid. I learned this lesson a long time ago.
Yup. I learned this too.
I had to click this thread to see what it was about, that means it is a shitty thread. Almost as shitty as the term "rents."
If the thread title already tells you what the quality of the thread is, why would you bother entering and posting in a "shitty thread"?I had to click this thread to see what it was about, that means it is a shitty thread. Almost as shitty as the term "rents."
