Bands You Hate

The One Thread in which we discuss bands we actively despise.

Whenever I hear Flobots, I am disgusted by the lyrics and usually roll my eyes or physically sneer at no one. They apparently have never encountered the concept of subtlety.

Starting new rule to make this thread interesting: give a reason, and link a song depicting what it is you hate.

@Sbaitso: Also not a band but I fuckin' hate Adele. At my last job "Someone like you" would come on every 55 minutes.

I don't 'hate' any band. It's just that several bands don't make music I like.

Anything on the radio pretty much because it's overplayed, and usually generic or shallow. Example of Adele already posted in this thread.

Muthafucking Gotye, I hate this song with the rage of a thousand sodomized hell beast. From the constant airplay to the myriad of shitty status updates about somebody that they used to know. It pains me that my favourite station plays it occasionally.

I agree with this. I don't actively hate any band. If someone likes a band's music than good for them. In Korea there is the concept of the 'anti-fan'. People who actively form groups to hate an artist, groups that often go insanely over the line. Atttack Attack! There isn't a single thing about this song, this video, or the people in it that would stop we from pressing a button that would launch them directly into the sun. Retarded, hardcore ninja dancing is terrible enough on it's own, but Choreographed hardcore dancing? autotune in "metal"? Stupid fucking hand haircuts? These people need to go.

I actually like that song and a few other of his, but then again I don't listen to the radio so I can listen at my own pace.

Jesus Christ, this has to be a joke band or something cause that video was hilarious. They almost hand me thinking that was a sincere attempt at making a "cool" video until that techno beat kicked in, made me lose it.

Just remembered this one. I think we can all get behind hating these guys, even you pussyfooters who don't hate bands. And it's thematically appropriate!

@CH3BURASHKA: I completely forgot that I hate the Flobots. I liked them alright, I mean at least that no handle bars song was cool, but once I saw a free concert of theirs I was completely turned off. That was until they did a cover of "Happy Together" which wasn't bad, but then I quickly disliked them again once they started up their own original music. Like you said they really need to look up the word subtly in the dictionary.

There's a dubstep remix of this that is basically my favorite song to listen to right now. (Listened to that version you posted just now and not really a big fan)

As for bands that I hate the first thing that comes to mind is LMFAO, but I don't really "hate" them I just fucking reallllllly, reeeeaaaaallllly can't stand their music. That fucking Party Rock song being so popular (and therefore everywhere) made it so much worse.

@wmaustin55: I unironically really like Adele. Her songs can get annoying at times, but she's better then a lot of the mainstream crap out there.

Whenever the subject of terrible music comes up, I just respond with this video. I also challenge you to finish it. Go ahead, listen to this entire song. I dare you. It is only right that I warn you that if you do watch all of it you will experience some very negative emotions afterwards.

I actively hate one specific song, not band, but the song is so shitty and stupid it makes me cringe at the thought of the band. I'm not posting a link because any spread of this song makes me want to slash my own throat. It even pains me to type out the name of the song

My Humps - Black Eyed Peas

I think it's the terminology used in this song that drives me fucking crazy. It's stupid and apish enough to trivialize sexuality and use it to sell, but to on top of that include extremely stupid words on top of it... I just want to start smashing heads. I've been known to leave areas playing that song.

I REALLY can't stand songs like "Aint nothing but mammals" and "love games" in general. Sex is the most boring damn thing to sing about and songs like this make me feel like people are stupid animals with the dumbest of basic instincts guiding their every thought, but somehow the song in question, to me, is the top of this idiot tree making the subject matter almost seem like they're making cutesy words for children.

Please let's set fire to this band and all those who enjoy this song so that we may never hear it again.

That song was horrible, but somehow it still managed to get stuck in my head. that's irritating.

I could list every new artist in here because I despise today's music but since you ask which bands I hate and not singers (there's a difference), here they are:

• Linkin Park - They used to be legendary but now they suck ass.
• Fallout Boy - Never liked those douches.
• Maroon 5 - The only song I like from them is Harder To Breathe. Other songs are just garbage. I especially hate that Jagger song and Adam's voice is just annoying.
• LMFAO - Two guys looking like shit and singing songs that sound like shit. I don't get it.
• Nickelback - Everyone would agree that their songs all sound the same. They really need to work on their composing skills.
• Black Eyed Peas - They used to be good, until money and fame came into the picture and corrupted their musical roots.
• Pussycat Dolls - Prostitutes that should be singing in prison cells instead of concerts; rotting to death.

@Zella: It sounds like everything external from the song is what makes you hate it. As a song by itself, it's actually pretty good. I heard it before it was really big (so hipster I know), but just because other people overplay it, doesn't mean I'm going to hate the song now. I just don't listen to the crappy radio.
