Some of them. Worth Reading is way too bloated for me, though. There must 50 links, videos and games in that thing every week and that's just too much. I would love to have a good summary every week, but not like that.
edit: Thinking about it, a weekly article with videos and links recommended by all members of the staff is what I actually want.
Do people actually read Patrick's stories?
Sure, I would if it interested me. Personally, I mostly stick to Quick Looks, ILM's and the Bombcast.
@geirr: Because this is not a thread about wether or not you read Patrick's articles. It's a thread about commenting on something you haven't read. The irony is just striking. I'd say this turned out even better than I could have hoped, as the social commentary is just phenomenal.

Of course I do. I'll never understand the Patrick hate.
Then who else are we going to abuse?
All kidding aside, I love the guy's work on the site.

Yeah this shit is like pretty deep dude.
I do read them... I also understand all the hate. I like them but he picks topics that brings hate no matter what side you walk on. That said, I think he has an odd outlook on most topics. I "like" him.
i don't really read Patrick's stories. not out of any kind of hate for him, but just because i don't want to read them....
@geirr: No, I'm posting a forum header that actually requires you read. Imagine that. If you actually read the content of the OP, you would know it works in tandem with the heading.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Patrick's articles. Especially the ones about things that I don't know much about, like text adventure games. That being said, I tend to avoid the comments section for his bigger stories since what people post there is often pretty terrible (such as the comments section on the #1reasonwhy stories *shutters*)
I don't even click on them. At least not the Friday thing he usually does as they don't appeal to me.
I read them, but I don't usually comment. Seems like the most vocal people are the ones who don't bother for some reason
Not really, because most of the times he writes about games I'm going to play in the future. He writes some really good (the best, actually) stuff here, and no, I don't comment on the articles, since I don't click on them in the first place.
To answer your actual 'point': you aren't blowing anyone's mind here. People commenting without reading happens across the internet.
As for the thread title: for the most part, I don't read them anymore, for reasons that a few people in this thread already articulated far better than I could've.
I will admit it is pretty funny. The OP knows his audience well. This thread is fucking hilarious. The OP is about people commenting on articles they haven't read and asking questions that are answered in the text and everyone is doing precisely that here. I just love it.

Why would I? I'm a bad person who needs to check my privilege at the door because I don't think Twitter messages should count as news anywhere other than Kotaku.
The Twitter 'articles' are hilarious. The fact that this guy can 'publish' a series of slightly edited Tweets and be given as much praise as I'm reading in this thread is astonishing.

Slightly edited tweets filled with grammatical errors.
It's the internet, people don't want to spend time reading an article, they want to give you their opinion and correct each other.

Look at it this way, if Patrick weren't writing these stories, there would be even less content and less people on the site.
Fewer.
Kudos to the OP if the title was intentional, it doesn't seem to matter how much text there is, people will still ask questions or make counter arguments that were addressed in the first few sentences. I wrote an article back in high school about the information age kind of robbing the youth of some basic communication and problem solving skills. It's only gotten worse since facebook and twitter, people only want the pertinent core information so they can make a comment and go on to the next thing.
