So...I'm curious as to what films or TV show's made you cry or get overly emotional.
Film wise, it would have to be The Green Mile. I don't think that I have ever cried as hard during a movie as I did at the end of that movie.
TV wise, it would have to without a doubt be Lost. There were so many moments during that entire series that made me cry. Usually when it was a main cast member (Minus Shannon, Niki, and Paulo), and several times during the final season. I mean if you knew what was going on and you didn't cry during the final scene of the entire show, then you have no soul.
What about you the Giant Bomb community? What moments on the big screen or small screen made you cry?
Films and/or TV that Made you Cry or get Emotional
Hah, wusses.
For me it was Voice of a Distant Star, and 5 centimeters per Second. Both hit emotionally with a girl I can't stop loving, and she's getting married soon back in Tokyo. But 5cm Per Second hit the fucking nail with how I felt/still feel and how the Protagonist felt.
Voice of a Distant Star was just emotionally demanding at the end...and it ends so sad. :(
I haven't cried watching a movie or a TV show. But I guess ones that have made me feel strong emotions would be: I can't really think of any at this minute though. I know what you mean about The Green Mile though that one didn't grab me so hard. Damn I know there are plenty but I am just blanking right now. I want to say Shawshank Redemption. There are definately a few moments in that movie but I wouldn't say that movie really grabbed my either but it did pull on the heart strings a little. Ah I think of one of them later I guess.
The Wrestler (several parts were just heart wrenching)
Where the Wild Things Are
The hospital scene in The Invention of Lying made me and the other 2 people in the theater sitting above me cry.
If someone is looking for a cry I suggest they look up the acoustic version of My Orphan Year by NOFX on youtube.
Last film I watched that got me emotional enough to very, very nearly cry was Let The Right One In. It's an insanely powerful movie.
I'm not an emotional guy and in all my life there are only a few things that nearly got me,
Grave of the fireflies,very sad
samurai x,trust and betrayal,great story
the exorcist,i was only 12 at the time and was on my own, serious case of leave the lights on
seven samurai, sheer awesomeness,,if that can be called an emotion
Its a wonderful life,,reckon i dont need to explain why.
One flew over the cuckoos nest,,stuck with me for a long time.
The one film that did actually get me,and i bawled like a baby(bawled in front of people too which says a lot) is mel gibsons"the Passion of Christ",,but i guess that might affect some people more than most.
Nearly forgot, the way Angels with dirty faces worked out was brilliant too, cagney was a top man
- The moment when Arnold is lowering himself into the lava in Terminator 2.
- The scene when Robin Williams sees his wife in Hell and realizes that he can't bring her back in What Dreams May Come.
- The end of Saving Private Ryan, when Matt Damon says "Tell me I'm a good man. Tell me I've lived a good life."
- The moment that they show the montage at the beginning of Up, as well as the moment that the house is right in the spot where it's "supposed" to be and Carl says "we made it".
- Edith's 50th Birthday on All In The Family, where she deals with her attempted rape
- The final episode of All In The Family, when Archie finds out that Edith has phlebitis
- Archie's Place, when he holds Edith's slipper to his face and delivers this: "It wasn't supposed to be like this. I was supposed to be the first one to go. I always used to kid you about you going first. You know I never meant none of that and that morning when yous was laying there. I was shaking you and yelling at you to go down and fix my breakfast. I didn't know. You had no right to leave me that way without giving me just one more chance to say I love you."
Fuck, I've got goosebumps right now just typing all that shit.
Those moments...will make ANY MAN ball like a fucking pansy.
I cried in I Am Legend with the scene of Sam because it reminded me so much of my dog and I could feel the pain in that scene. Some other scenes had me teary eyed, but that is the only movie I watched that I cried in. I felt sad in the first scene of Up and the same goes for The Wrestler, but i never cried in those. Oh and Click and Reign on Me almost made me cry too ( weird how both of those have Adam Sandler in them)
(I love being able to link to a fellow Whiskey Media site for movies now)
“I treasure my remark to my grandson who asked, 'Grandpa, were you a hero in the war?' Grandpa said, 'No... but I served in a company of heroes'.”" The end of Band of Brothers nearly made me cry man tears, especially the very last line. "
Got the 'ol lump in the throat. Perfect end to an excellent miniseries.
" So...I'm curious as to what films or TV show's made you cry or get overly emotional. Film wise, it would have to be The Green Mile. "Dude, I came to this thread with that answer in mind. That was a really emotional ending.

" @Korne said:I don't think there was singing in the first one, and it is definitely the only good movie in the series." The Land Before Time... every single time since I was 4. That part is just really, REALLY sad. "The one with the singing dinosaurs? "
And yeah, the main character's mother dies, and he sleeps alone in one of her footprints with the Starleaf that was a gift from her. It always makes me tear up.
The Wire has hit me harder emotionally than any other TV show. Or for that matter, book or movie.
Okay, I'm having major problems with spoiler tags for whatever reason, so pretend that this is a list of all of the awesome characters that get got on that show. Every major death on the Wire made me cry, and there were a TON of people getting killed on that show.

" Simon Birch always gets me."Yeah, me too.
Saw The Wrestler this week. Fuck.... that ending left me in awe and feeling some really deep things. Very, very sad movie. Also remarkable.
When Wash dies in Serenity, I ALWAYS fucking lose it. The guy was the beginning of my favorite television series, and basically the end of it.
Goddammit, Alan Tudyk, don't do Transformers 3. PLEASE. For me, and for Wash, and for all the people who loved him like they actually knew him =(
Runner-up's: Basically every Pixar movie ever. They all get real, real sad.
A movie hasn't made me more depressed than I Am Legend, when Will Smith had to strangle his own dog to death. I can watch all sorts of bad stuff happen to peoples kids and what-not, but when someones dog has to die I just feel terrible:( Movie like Old Yeller, Where the Red Fern Grows...
