So I just got an email from gamespot asking me to join and take part in this new "FUSE" profiling awards thing. I know they had some sort of accomplishment system before but this whole new "FUSE" thing is a little to close to the new giantbomb quest system. I DOUBT they ripped them off but it is a weird little coincidence.
Gamespot fuse?
I can promise you that the "Search" function is a useful feature.
Not only that but from what I can gather, they are reaching out to a company that collects this kind of data anyway so it's not like the market isn't already there to distribute it. Hell this kind achievement stat tracking thing has been going on the PC for quite a few years now, most notably Steam (they just don't have S-Ranks really).
Great to all those people who are active in GS's community but not here. However I'm already invested here and the interface on the site is better than GameSpot's in my opinion. I'm not going to start bashing them because I have no reason. I'm listening to The HotSpot right not for fuck's sake.
EDIT: Aw shit. I hate it when I post as first person in repeat threads. Bah whatever, delete the shit or whatever.
Hey I'm not taking sides at all here lol. I just thought it was a funny coincidence seeing how giantbomb got its roots. There's no way I'd move back to gamespot for any reason, but it's not like both sites can't live in the same world. I agree with you in that this sites design is far superior to gamespot's.
I'm sorry I didn't search this topic, I didn't see it on the first page at a glance so I just assumed no one but myself cared to post it.
Also though I can't help but notice the first guy didn't even read my post lol.
" It makes me laugh that gamespot really thinks this is what will crush giant bomb.. the people who work there just really dont get it.. some of them never did and the ones that are atill there never will. "I very much doubt this has anything to do with GiantBomb. Most likely its just a better way to get more page views, therefore more ad dollars. GB's is done for fun (mostly), although I'm sure they thought ahead to when they get some ads on the site again.
